This place might have ‘award winning pies’ but it has the worse customer service I have ever experienced! The only item my 6 year old would eat on the menu was a ham, cheese & tomato toastie……without the tomato. Unfortunately for her what I thought was a simple request of removing said tomato from the toastie prior to toasting it was beyond the capabilities of this award winning bakery.

Even though the toastie was initially made onsite, potentially by one of the 4 members of staff that all had the time to give me every reason why the tomato could not be removed prior to them toasting it, not one of them had the compassion or common sense to just remove it 😆

I was given every reason why it wasn’t possible from health & safely, company policy, what if I change my mind (I offered to pay for it first!), they could get in trouble, and finally that the owner of the bakery would need to be called to seek approval…..to remove a couple of slices of tomato!

Wow just wow, all for simply wanting the tomato removed from a toastie for a little girl that wouldn’t eat anything else.

Yes she might be fussy but is it really that much of a big deal to remove some tomato from a toastie especially when the place was really quite and there were more staff than customers in there.

It was a complete ‘the computer says no’ situation and unbelievably they refused to do it. They wouldn’t remove the tomato, they wouldn’t let me remove it prior to toasting, they wouldn’t make a fresh just cheese & tomato toastie.

I was told they couldn’t cater to every customers wants no matter how busy or quiet they are as ‘where do they draw the line’ - beautiful customer service!

I got to the point where I left without purchasing anything for my daughter or the rest of the family.

Won’t be...

Whilst they have a wide selection of products and many great reviews, I experienced terrible customer service from a young lady today. I am partial to a jam donut but upon seeing them in the cabinet looking wrinkled and wet on top, I decided to pass. When my husband and son were ordering their custard tarts, I noticed some fresh jam donuts on the rack that hadn't been put in the cabinet yet. They looked lovely and plump and fresh so my husband asked if I could have one of those instead of one from the cabinet. She proceeded to ignore him and bag one from the cabinet. He then asked her again for a fresh one but refused saying that they were the same and she had to sell the cabinet donuts first. I didn't argue and just went without. If I'm paying $6 for a donut, I expect it to be fresh and I expect to be given the one I ask for. She missed out on a sale and didn't care - not the sort of employee I would want if I were the owner. By the way, the custard tarts tasted ok according to my husband and son. Not in...

Worth the 5 hour trip from Perth to Denmark for the food here alone. I got the braised lamb in red wine and mushroom pie and the strawberry custard danish, and both were absolute perfection. A gorgeous display of goods, and food that looks so good that you think they'd taste bad.

The pie was rich, chunky and generous with the ingredients. No corners were cut, or anything skimped out on. You spend your whole time eating in heaven, only to finish the pie and realise the purgatory that is life without it.

The strawberry danish's pastry was folded over and over what seems like a thousand times, like the metal of a legendary sword, but still somehow incredibly soft and fluffy, with a crunchy, flaky outer crust. The custard was fluffy and lightly sweetened, with the strawberry sauce and slices bringing a fantastic tang.

The one bad thing I can say is the fact that I have filled myself up on it's baked items, and can't fit...

Everything here was fresh and delicious! The little cinnamon donuts for 90c were soft and sweet, the chocolate dipped custard horn had a generous dip of hard chocolate shell that tasted good (not the cheapest possible chocolate), and the best flakey and crisp pastry I've tasted on a custard horn. There are about 26 types of pie here. Pies are about $7+. The pepper steak pie was reasonably tender and had a large but not overwhelming amount of black pepper. The truffle chicken mushroom pie was very creamy and garlicky, and straight up tasted like it should have been a pasta. Loved the generous chunks of mushroom and tender chicken thigh. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area! At 1PM they were still fully stocked with pies and bakery items, despite a constant stream of customers.

Literally just left this amazing bakery. It is (upon our first visit) THE best bakery we have ever visited in Australia. We tried the 5 Pepper Steak pie, a meat and veggie pastie and a steak, bacon and cheese pie and all were unbelievably tasty. The flaky pastry on the pastie was to die for. For dessert we had a coffee cream eclair (delicious) and a key lime tart that was slightly disappointing only because it was more sweet than tart (why no candied limes on top?). Rounding out our $94 spend, we bought a baked blueberry cheesecake, two large French baguettes and two sparkling water. My only suggestion is they stock Hunt and Brew ice coffees to help for the next leg of the journey. 😊
