I was accommodated at the hotel by the company I was cotracted to. Looks great from the outside. Inside its a kittle dated. I was given a room out the back. First impression. Youve got to be joking. Wood panel walls, mustard coloured tiles in the bathroom, a dinosour for an AC unit. Floor mounted reverse cycle. It was freezing so it had to be on as the bar heater didnt work. Its the noise or freeze. The shower is another story all together. The drain was rusted. The soap holder had been broken so tape was wrapped aroind what was left of the base to support your soap. It was terrible weather so decided to stay for dinner. The Mt Barker steak was beautiful. So far the only good thing. My bed was comfortable and warm. All I need is a hot shower and a good nights sleep. Well see how long that AC stays on for. Will I be back. I dont think so, unless I have been accommodated by someone else.

Did not stay but had dinner there. Not pictured was their mac n'cheese. It was not homemade, but it was tasty. The reef and reef is a great play on reef and beef. Prawns were nice and fresh, unfortunately the fish was a little bit over but the sauce was divine. Great spot for a tasty dinner, roaring fire in the fire place and friendly staff.

Classic Mt Barker experience - stop in for a top West Aussie feed, a cold beer or a night as you travel the southwest. Plenty of parking in the street, clean and air-conditioned venue with a sports bar, restaurant and beer garden with plenty of room for friends and family. Lunch from 11am to 2pm Dinner from 5:15pm to 8pm

I recently had the misfortune to book a room at the Plantagenet Hotel for 6 days. To say the room was a throw back to the 1970s would be an understatement. The bed head and floor mounted aircon unit were as old as I am. The main light didn't work, the light above the sink in the bathroom didn't work, and the radiant heater above the bed didn't work. ||The carpet had burn marks from the iron on it. There was only one mug for coffee and one glass for cold drinks. The cable for the jug was that short that it would not sit far enough on the fridge to be stable. It actually shook itself off the fridge when it was boiling and spilt all over floor right next to the power board.||The shower head had calcium all over it and was not adjustable. The bathroom did not have an exhaust fan and once you had a shower, you could not use the mirror above the vanity. ||When it rained, the rusted roof beam on the verand above the walkway in front of the room leaked heavily. You could not walk along the veranda without getting saturated. I would prefer to stay in a caravan before staying here again.||The toilet blocked up twice, the mesh on the windows above the shower and toilet were that clogged with dust that there was no airflow. There was no way you could wash your dishes such as the cups / mugs / bowls and we did not have room service during the 6 days. The complimentary milk or tea / coffee was not replaced during the 6 days. There was dust everywhere, spiders on the walls and the wood panelling on the walls had gaps in it.||The pillows were wafer thin which resulted in me purchasing another pillow so my Wife could have a decent night sleep. On the first night, the patrons were that loud that we could not get to sleep until 1 am. One of the other nights, another of the patrons staying at the hotel had their car turned sideways in the carpark. The car park out the front of the unit was always filled by other cars who were in the hotel either working or drinking. Half of the time, I had to park on the road instead of in front...

Stayed in a double room number 1, the weekend of 14th, 15th February 2025. Front door step to high, very dangerous. No hand rails in bathroom or toilet. No microwave or toaster. No small table. One chair only. No air-conditioning No ceiling fan No exhaust fans in shower or toilet room. No safety fly screens on window at front . Have to leave door open for fresh air. Salt and pepper shakers in utensil box were dried up in a hard ball, un useable. Cutlery missing. Parking for guests at a premumium. Hotel patrons allowed to park in back parking area, blocking guests. Most annoying. Hotel patrons using back gate entry into or out of the beer garden. Noisy patrons late at night in beer garden and when leaving late at night through back gate disturbing guests who are staying in motel rooms. Yelling, blowing car horns and reving cars. Defenetly not safe for any disabled person. No wheel chair or walker access. Extreamily dangerous for anyone and certainly do not recommend...
