Surf 'N' Chooks — Restaurant in Mount Barker

Great food cooked to order. Large range of snacks and fresh made salads. FANTASTIC STILL MOIST Lightly battered good sized fish, greatly cooked, crisp outside and fluffy inside extremely generous sized chips that I suspect are freshly cut and made on the premises and taste great. Recently seen a few reviews that I can't explain. I've been here 6 times since September 2024 and have had 100% great service and quality of food.... And STILL think these guys do the best chips I've had in a long long time. Can't recommend this place highly enough and can't understand or agree with people saying there is poor quality food and massively confused and strongly disagree with anyone who isn't blown away by how well the chips are always cooked! Awful place! Service is unenthusiastic and slack. Can tell they don’t want to be there and made me feel almost bad for going in and ordering some chips. The shop itself is filthy. I asked for a small chips with extra chicken salt, when I later went to pick them up (15 mins to cook chips) they were SO over cooked there was no potato left in them and no salt on them at all. Had to go to coles and buy my own chicken salt to put on them because I didn’t want to go back into that shop because of the way they treat their customers.
