For a pub, the food is amazing! There are so many options. Have a look at the salad bar and if you know that it is a meal in itself, just order the salad bar, it is much better than fast food, for the same price, for you. The salad bar is quite the smorgasbord. I particularly like the different ways they make the mushroom salad and seafood salad. If you want protein or something that is tantalising your tastebuds to drool on the menu, order that, you won't be disappointed. You will also get a complimentary plate for the salad bar. The menu is extremely generous in portion sizes so come in with a very hungry tummy. I recommend the brisket (my fave). The schnitzels are huge and deliciously thick and tender as well. The staff are incredibly friendly and quick with all requests. Staff have shown a very above and beyond approach to situations that require discretion and care. This is a very popular place with locals and during events and high seasons will get very busy and noisy. There is a wonderful children's area to keep them occupied and laughing with delight whilst the parents/carers keep a watchful eye on them whilst enjoying adult company. It does get very loud and boisterous so don't expect a romantic meal during busy times. But if you go there for a romantic meal, you will have a lot to talk about as it has an atmosphere you don't get in a lot of other pubs. One thing I would love in this pub is background music. Was staying in Mount Gambier for a couple of nights and wanted something rather than the normal takeaway rubbish we all get when travelling. We found this pub on Google Maps, and it had a good star rating, so we went there to try it out.

Pulled into the carpark only to find it quite full. Well, we were already here, so we went in with the expectations of waiting hours to be fed.

When we went inside, surely enough, the place was pretty full of customers, a good sign for the quality of the food, but a bad sign for how long we may be waiting for.

As you enter the dining area, you are required to wait to be seated by the bar staff. We had a group of 5, 2 adults, and 3 kids. We were seated straight away at a a large table near the entrance. We used the QR code scan thing at our table to put in our order and payment details.

I'm the organiser of a social group who chose to have our bi-monthly dinners here because the front of house staff have always been lovely and the playground is convenient for those of us with families.

I used to bring family for every big event also, as the staff have always been accommodating and the food amazing.

That being said, here have been issues with the food nearly every time we have come in the last 6 months. Our most recent visit with the social group ended up with one of our party being served a soup they did not order, meals brought out in such a staggered way that some members had finished their meals before others received theirs and a rare steak brought out medium-well and when politely requested to be redone, brought out blue.

The front of house staff were very apologetic and considerate and we cannot fault them in the slightest, they were amazing, however, we're tired of the constant errors from the kitchen, so we'll be shifting our gatherings elsewhere...
