Southern Thai Cafe — Restaurant in Mount Gambier

I usually love this restaurant, so I give 4 stars at this time. But I would be remiss not to share that tonight was a huge disappointment. After getting home to find the lid had not been secured properly, filling the plastic bag (and my car seat) with 7/8th of the green curry sauce, I was surprised to find that the usual chicken breast has been replaced with thigh. I highly rate this restaurant for the fact they are one of the few in town (maybe the only) not to use thigh, and now I fear this change is permanent. I fully appreciate that accidents happen as far as the sauce-leak is concerned, it was just a series of unfortunate events tonight, but I hope my feedback about the chicken will be received...

Very disappointing visit, we read amazing reviews. But when we arrived we were pointed to the direction of the table which we had booked. It took 20 minutes for someone to then see if we would like a drink. Left us with 1 menu only. Then after orders were taken it was another 20 minutes for entrees to arrive. Then after waiting another 20 minutes we asked for our mains to take away as there was no service. They were extremely busy and obviously not enough staff on, and not trained properly! Food was bland even though we asked for medium heat. The prawns in our curry were large and cooked perfectly, but only 4 in our main. Tables around us had been vacated but no staff had cleared them or attempted to even when passing by. But again they...

I never had an opportunity to taste the food as they were busy which was fair enough as there was a 45 minute wait so I left. I was offended by the waitress who chose not to serve me. I was 4th in line and the first 3 people were served and the waitress decided not to serve me. She went about serving drinks and other tasks while leaving me to watch her. She would not even make eye contact or use her manners to let us know that someone would be with me in a moment. I just wanted takeaway. After 5 mins she left one of her colleges to deliver the bad news without even asking the other waitress to serve us. Very disappointed that someone else had to carry her weight. 5 stars to the waitress...
