We arrived at 6:50pm on a Saturday and ordered . I was told that they were closing soon and only a portion of the menu was available, so We chose a $19chicken snitchzel and a $16falafel pocket. I felt like something sweet and asked what was their best treat and was recommended the $5baklava . We were informed that we couldn’t eat in the dining room and would have to eat outside where it was raining or take away. I paid for it without adding up the total initially …so while I was waiting I checked the amount I paid which was $46.50. I m not a local so realised it was incorrect , as it came to $40, so enquired . I was told there was a surcharge for the weekend. there was no mention of this when I ordered however. The order came out in bags and we decided to go back to our accommodation to eat. I opened the larger bag & saw chicken in the roll so passed the other smaller bag to my partner for her to have her falafel pocket only to find it was also chicken .we couldn’t take it back so we ate it and the meals were tasty and hot. I then was looking forward to the baklava and have had this before elsewhere and enjoyed it, however found this one heavy & flat. Overall I was disappointed with the experience not being fully informed at point of sale and receiving an incorrect meal. I felt the staff were in a hurry to close but we’re happy to take our money. We won’t...
Read moreWe were down in the home-town shire for a family event and decided to hit Mullum for lunch at 3.30pm. Most places were shut, but these guys were open and we were so glad they were. I ordered the mezze platter so I could pick and choose and my partner had a malafel.
I noticed they had homemade lemonade after the fact that I'd ordered and paid and said oh well next time, but when I came back in from going out for a bit they had treated me to a free one which was so unexpected.
The food was incredible. The Falafel is absolutely gorgeous and authentic, and the platter was so generous. OH MAN THE HUMMUS. Everything sectioned off so you could try things together or separately, which is a huge bonus because of my dietery requirements - not even pre mentioned. We took home some of it for nibbles later. The atmosphere was relaxed and all the staff incredibly happy and attentive. We will come back for sure. I can't wait to try...
Read moreThe food here is wonderful overall but I purchased the Kebab Roll and having eaten a few kebabs in my time I read the Menu and it states "Beef and Lamb" - now most people would think the meat would come straight off the bone like any kebab you have ever seen... but not here... they produce two patties, no doubt with meat but a lot of other stuff too, and then fill the roll with all the other ingredients.... I guess I was just put off by the pattie that is in this roll, when really the meat that is promoted on their Menu board and Menu brochure says 'meat' and that should mean real meat, cut fresh from a rotisserie... These rolls are $17 each for heavens sake, and I am not paying $17 for an artificial beef patty ever again... My lesson learnt is always ask if it is the real thing??!!... Gotta hand it to the guys though, they offered me another roll and I chose the chicken schnitzel roll and it was fantastic, so...
