EDIT (as I cannot reply to owner response): Your reply is factually incorrect. I absolutely DID NOT call and I at no point was I aggressive with your staff. I absolutely did not verbally abuse anyone. The facts are that my coffee order was pushed aside and not made, I waited 45 minutes and when I questioned why my order wasn’t being made I was met with aggressiveness from your staff and “do it yourself” and had to then beg for my my coffee cups and money back. I stayed absolutely calm however I was taken aback at the aggression and abuse I received when I asked what was going on. As already mentioned, there were several other people who also were complaining, and I did see another woman get very upset at how your staff handled the situation taking no responsibility and also being completely aggressive and abusive towards us. Your response shows that you are ok with your staff treating paying customers like this and you should be ashamed. Customers spend your money elsewhere this business is abusive and doesn’t look after their customers. Absolutely unacceptable and inappropriate behaviour from a business.
Worst experience at a cafe ever. I’m so angry! I ordered 2 takeaway coffees at 7.56. One docket up infront of mine. Waited …. Waited.. 45 mins later and still no coffee. The lady infront of me and behind me wondering where their coffees are. Noticing people sitting down getting their coffees who ordered 20 mins after us. So we asked where are our coffees what’s going on? We got a “we have our own process so you can wait” I said it’s been over half an hour and are coffees are half made to the side. We were not advised of a 40 minute coffee wait. Another staff member walked up and said “you clock on and do it then” and I said I happily would, it would take me 2 mins to do the 3 remaining takeaway coffees. Then they continued to make other coffees ordered so much after us and ours just continued to sit unmade. I’m so angry. I waited 45 minutes for nothing, and when I politely and very fairly asked why are my coffees not being made I was met with “do it yourself” no gracious apology or trying to make it right. These staff members are incapable of doing their jobs and they have no ability of basic customer service. The barista seemed confused and not confident to make the coffees and the dark haired girl was extremely rude and a horrible piece of work, I would never employ these girls and they need serious training in how to manage 3 coffees and address a customer follow up after a 45 minute wait when it wasn’t even busy! Read moreThe staff were aggressive, rude and incompetent. I had a terrible experience with the staff speaking to myself and other customers with complete disrespect. I was one of several who received this treatment and there’s a handful of us locals who experienced this first hand, which was beyond disappointing especially since we have visited this establishment spanning many years. The staff were simply not capable of doing the job but to speak to customers (who were genuinely trying to resolve the issue) with such aggression was not acceptable. I see that this has already been noted by another customer in your reviews. As someone with a long history of hospitality management and business management locally it’s these kind of experiences that should never have escalated to this extent. When there’s a very valid issue occurring and the staff are unable to respond with the capability of resolving the matter, but rather swear and aggressively start an argument with a line of confused paying customers, you have a serious problem. Having staff that lack skills and training is one thing, but to blatantly be aggressive to customers and lack ability to address the issue professionally with the customer, choosing to dig your heels in and blame the innocent customers, there is a serious lack of grace and accountability from management too. We staggered in, weary sailors, stomachs grumbling louder than the winds that had howled through the night. But lo! A beacon of gluten free culinary salvation awaited. A chilli scramble, bold and fiery as a pirate's last stand; a halloumi and egg roll so gloriously golden, it could’ve been part of The Empire’s royal treasury. And the coffee—liquid gold fit for an emperor (or at least a very smug, crown-wearing sloth).
After days of rations and cyclone supplies, this was the feast we needed. No need to venture to the ends of the shire—The Empire Café remains the undefeated champion in the battle against hunger.
