We decided to order some shared plates for some nice tappers. The portions said ‘small plates to share’ but Mexican food is well known to be huge so you would expect a nice sized plate but they were very small plates with half of it covered in sauce and for the guacamole a small handful of chips, which was 13 dollars. the rest of the small share meals went down the same path as the guacamole.
We ordered the bbq ribs which was a large sized meal, the meal was about what you’d expect for the small share meals, medium sized. Anyways the ribs tasted nice and pretty small for what’s expected of a Mexican restraunt.
We decided to order three of the mock tails, one guava fizzy, one strawberry one and one colourful one in a small glass. Although these drinks tasted nice, they arrived About 20 minutes after the food where we were about done our dinner.
We also decided to sit outside with our dog. Allthough it had pretty views the mosquitos were out and were bitting and all of our legs and feet, which ruined our experience.
From this experience I would like to note that the drinks were late, the food was small portions, and there was nothing outside to stop mosquitos and no...
Read moreBeautiful view of the pond and restuarant setting was nice. Food was tasty but slightly overpriced. unfortunately the service definatly needs improving. For example, had to get up from table to find a waiter to ask for more drinks, had to get up from table and find waiter to ask for dirty plates to be removed as they were sitting on table for a long time. No new napkins were offered when mains came out, had to go and ask for some. Our water jug was left empty all night, had to ask for more. Empty drink glasses left on table had to ask for them to be removed. No dessert menus were offered. Had to get up from table to find a waiter to get dessert menu. No one came back to ask if we would like to order any desserts, became annoyed by this point and did not bother trying to find someone to order. These things are expected in this type of restuarant. I went into detail so you know what types of things are being missed service wise. Some training on suggestive selling would also inprove your sales. They may seem litle to some but those little things impact your overall dining experience. Hope this feedback helps to improve your...
Read moreIn all honesty, after looking at some of the reviews my expectations were not high. How wrong I was. The accommodations and premises are freshly painted and decorated. Think: Palm Springs mid century modern. Clean, bright and fresh. Our dinner started with a classic gin and tonic and a Margarita that could best be described as outstanding. Though oysters were not available tonight we chose Truffled gnocchi with macadamias and wild mushrooms, and a light and tasty calamari enhanced with finely sliced chili. Mains were pan fried duck fillet with an orange and fennel salad and a side of fuffy, salty chat potatoes. We finishes we a cheese plate for two with 3 generous pieces of blue, brie and cheddar wirh dried apricots and raisins.
How would I rate it? Honesty. This is country town. If you're expecting a capital city experience, stay with what you know. The staff were attentive, one or two took pride in what they were doing and an interest in their customers. I liked it. I would come back again, and hope Negroni is on the...
