The Island Restaurant — Restaurant in Nambucca Heads

We had a family get together dinner at the Island Restaurant at the Golf Club last Friday night and thoroughly enjoyed the food and the great views over the river as the sun set. The chef did an amazing job of getting 11 delicious meals out to us - all in one go! The kingfish special and the fresh (not frozen) gold band snapper fish & chips were a standout. Great views. Wonderful menu selection. Have to go back to try more. So many delicious dishes to choose from. Excellent size meal and superb tasting. I had swordfish with veg & salad and my friend had crumbed lamb cutlets. The service was friendly and helpful. Dessert was home-made pear cheesecake with on the side a berry/pomegranates glaze, ice-cream & dollop of cream. Cappacinnos were just right. Very clean, well presented...

Not from around town, looking for places and come across this gem on a Thursday night is steak night and there was one dish that caught my eye it was stone grilled steak and it was amazing!!! Shelley the waiter was happy to put though some as unfortunately to limited stock of stones you have to book in advance so definitely make sure you do that as you don't what to miss out on the beautiful steak and views...
