Total 83/100 Atmosphere 18/20: • In the bar area it is very classy. White with green and brown accents along with some bare brick walls pulls it up above the average pub. Music isn't too loud and has a variety of music which is great for a fun time. Service 16/20: • Order at the counter. Staff clear tables often and are polite. Super friendly and able to have a joke. Food 49/60: •  Salt & Pepper Squid: it is super tender, not chewy at all. It has a nice heat to it while being flavoured well and not oily from cooking. Really solid squid. • Garlic pizza: the base of this pizza is thicker than most but it's fine there. The cheese has a really nice pull and stretch to it with a strong garlic flavour which is what you want. It also has a little bit of tomato base which adds a nice contrast in flavour. • Chicken Schnitzel: Chips are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside while being well seasoned with a touch of herb. Real good chips. The 'salad' is half a baby iceberg simply cut in half with the butt still on. I'm always hesitant when that's the case however it looked clean so I can't really say more. It also had pickled onions which were the highlight and a nice light dressing that complimented the onions. The schnitzel was mostly moist. Although somehow parts of the schnitzel were dry and others weren't. Just a bit inconsistent and independent of the thickness so I'm not sure what caused it. The crumb was crispy and well seasoned with a herby undertone that lifted it. They aren't innovating here but a solid classic. • Beer Battered Fish: Chips and salad are as above but there was an actual salad with rocket. Fish is amazing. Batter is nice and thin which I love, seasoning is on point and the fish itself couldn't be cooked better. All the praises here. Tartar sauce is solid. Nice strong flavour that compliments the fish well.

Popped down for a couple of beers & dinner. Very nice decor outside and inside. The courtyard dining area didn't appeal to us so we sat out front in the bar with a lovely view up the street & the bar staff were great. Shared some great $15 chook wings as a starter, then and I had a chef's special $53 fish & my wife the $29 Slow Roasted Pork Belly - with a couple of glasses of very unusual wines - eg: Tripe Iscariot "Danse Macabre" @ $13 small glass described thus - "The Chenin Blanc, Semillon & Muscat D’Alexandrie play off each other seamlessly in this great South African inspired blend. With an aromatic white blossom nose, this wine dances on the palate. One of the most important & upcoming winemakers of the last few years" Phew - big description! Pretty good dinner and met some nice folk to chat with....would definitely return

Absolutely terrible food! Chips were so salty you couldn’t eat them salad was soaked in terrible cheap dressing and this is a $41 piece of steak that tasted like kangaroo ! Chicken schnitzel was so burnt could only eat the middle salad was the same and the $10 kids lunch meal was 4 dried out chicken nuggets and a hand full of salty chips .. I would have sent this all back but my partner was already having a stressful day ! The waitress was embarrassed to deliver food to our table and apologetic she was very nice but these were the worst meals I have had in a long time No where in side for children to eat at lunchtime when it was raining and muggy and hot . Absolute waste of time going here not to mention the over priced trashy food

I have stayed here twice for work & both times have been as expected. The accommodation is pub style, with some rooms having an ensuite & others a shared bathroom. The ensuite rooms are larger & have a QS bed, while the shared bathroom rooms have a large single bed. Both were clean & comfortable.

The shared bathrooms are unexpectedly beautiful. In a gorgeous art deco style, they have a level of charm you would not expect in a pub. The supplied soaps are also lovely (Antipode) & I have since tracked them down so I can have them in my own bathroom at home!!

Parking is in a secure lot out the back but is a bit limited. I parked out the front for both stays with no issues at all. Very well it so I wasn't concerned.

The complimentary continental breakfast was unexpected & adequate for a quick bite before heading to site pre dawn - cereal, toast, tea, coffee. If you don't like UHT milk, grab some fresh milk from Coles next door & leave it in the fridge (no one used my milk the whole time I was there). There are basic amenities for getting a meal for yourself if you are not wanting to buy food & plenty of cutlery, plates, etc.

The bistro downstairs was excellent. Every meal I had there was tasty & the portion sizes are good after a long day. Being able to book meals to my room was handy as my company has an account so everything was taken care of for me.

Central location if you do decide to eat elsewhere. Pretty easy walk to other pubs, clubs, & restaurants in town.

10/10...

Getting specific with the snity this evening. In my previous experiences, the chicken snity was a 5/10, more recently the quality of the snity has improved, easily one of the best of my life (none yet to best tims in darwin), but The most true love of my life, the ying to the chicken yang. The mash has been taken away from me. "We're out of potatos", " we aren't allowed to let you order mash". I was told the last three visits, The balance of my favourite meal in town has been forcefully reprinted away from my grasp. I've lost the hope of the consistent and always at hand comfort meal of the town. Rip the mash i fell in love with. you will be perfect and masterfully created in my mind for the rest of my days.

I consider the cholesterol associated with the chips that accompany every meal the bane of my great health. Im disappointed at the least. To end i must pay homage to a great inspiration of my life, "If it's going to kill me, it better taste good" - Jonathan Kirkland while attending binley mega...
