Charles Sturt Hotel — Restaurant in Narrandera

Traveling from Canberra to Adelaide, I posted a query asking for recommendations on dining options in Narrandera.

To my delight, someone suggested this venue, and I am beyond grateful that I decided to give it a try.

From the moment I stepped inside, the staff exhibited exceptional customer service skills that made me feel truly valued as a guest.

The patrons at the front bar welcomed me with warm smiles and genuine friendliness.

Their hospitable nature immediately put me at ease and made me feel like a part of their community. I cannot emphasize enough how much I appreciate their kindness and willingness to go above and beyond to make me feel comfortable.

Now, let's talk about the food.

The steak I had here was an absolute delight for my taste buds. Cooked to perfection, every bite was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. It's safe to say that it was the best steak I've had in a long time, and that's saying something considering my love for a good steak!

But what truly sets this place apart is the incredible service provided by the staff. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about ensuring I had a memorable dining experience.

Their attention to detail and dedication to their craft truly shone through.

To the entire team at this venue, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the amazing service you provided.

You have definitely earned a loyal customer in me. As I intend on embarking on many more road trips this year i’ll be stopping by again.

I highly recommend anyone passing through Narrandera to stop by and indulge in their fantastic cuisine and impeccable customer service.

The Charles on East Resturant is out the back of pub, walk through down a darkish hall and find your way in. Meals were big and pretty darn good so do recommend popping in here but it can definitely improve on a few things other than the meals.

The hallway to the resturant doesn't have a great smell but once you find the restaurant that will fade. Menu is on the wall to the right before the counter, so it would be helpful if it had a sign at the counter to mention that as you walk past it and it's hard to notice its a menu until being told. There were 4 or 5 couples after us that also didn't have a clue. Order meals at the counter in the restaurant and drinks need to be ordered from the bar at the front.

Rough crowd out the front bar and minimal service, seems you have to be standing right in front of the taps to get served.

Scotch fillet, chips veg and mash with mushy...

Must say we were pleasantly surprised tonight here. Having tried the two other pubs, one looks to have shut permanently(top pub) and the other the Murrumbidgee doesn't do Sunday dinner so onto the third which turned out to be a good thing. They had an Indian menu on, the meals we got were beef rogan josh and butter chicken. The meats were very tender and the sauces had beautiful aromats and nice kick(I prefer mine hotter) but this was a good heat for the general punters.
