Re writing my review because info not like owners replies making it the customers issue and making it seem like it’s a one off issue.
I will try again a few times before I review a small business. When Daze opened I was going here every day, the coffee has always been weak but at the time the barista kind of knew how to make coffee but many mistakes happened and every single time I would go back to ask for cold milk so I didn’t scald myself or to top up the milk as it’s just foam in a flat white. I used to go before work on a Sunday as there was no other option in town at 6am before an hours drive and the boy with short hair had no idea about temperature control and used to burn the coffee so much and would never change no matter how many times I complained.
I stoped going here when you decided to open at mysterious times, I was tired of coming down during opening hours to find you decided not to open or closed early, today for example lots of people around at midday in the holidays but you are closed?!
I don’t know if it’s changed hands in ownership but feels like it, the coffee is still basic and from my experience yesterday the barista was bad, over 1/4 just foam and the rest of my mocha tasting like cloudy water. The chocolate is eaithet dark chocolate or organic sugarless but it wasn’t nice..
Instead of telling the customer it’s our fault or it’s because you are busy which is not a good excuse for a coffee shop, try spending some time learning to make a coffee and make sure everyone serving can make a coffee.
Be consistent and these problems won’t happy.
So after many many bad experiences I left a bad review it is not my fault if your reputation gets hit, It’s how you react and I hope you improve...

Where to begin? I’m not usually one to leave a review, but I was so disappointed by my trip to Daze that I wanted to warn future patrons.
Upon entry we were greeted by a team member who was unenthusiastic. Usually I would turn a blind eye to this, but combined with the revolting sandwich I was served I could not.
We ordered a beef brisket foccacia and chicken and avo toastie. We were summoned to the hatch to collect the brisket, then had ask for salad to be added to the sandwich that included merely two chunks of bread and three slices of beef fat. Please see image below. Then I asked for mayo to be added to make it palatable, and I was informed that this would be a $2 charge.
Upon attempting to eat the foccacia, I noticed that the brisket was simply beef fat and inedible. We then decided to cancel the chicken toastie - as by this point we had waiting 25 minutes for the second sandwich.
We were graciously refunded, however the attitude shown by the member of staff was abrasive and when I pointed out that I had been served beef fat, they attempted to convince me that that was actually brisket. As the picture shows, this is wrong.
Following the refund, we went to leave. However tensions were clearly running high for the team as we were summoned back to return a blanket that we had been sat on under the tree to a basket. Which simply prolonged the negative experience.
It’s a real shame as I was excited to try Daze after reading the positive reviews. With this in mind, I’d recommend sticking to a takeaway coffee and...
Read moreHave been here almost every day (sometimes twice a day - as they’re the only cafe with speciality coffee open after 1:30pm which is a huge plus!).
Coffee is amazing - my usual order is a small cap extra hot, and is always consistent.
Personal favourites with food is the chicken toastie and ham cheese croissant - not sure what magic they sprinkle ontop but SO worth trying, and for something more summery the açai bowls are the best I’ve had in a long time.
Absolutely Perfect location - right beside the jetty at the entrance to the beach. the picnic mats provided are such a nice touch, and the toddlers can run around on the grass and bring their scooters, so always here with other moms and kids! Would love it if council allowed to clear some of the trees for more of a view of the ocean, but it’s nice that the area is more sheltered than all the other cafes close to the beach which can get...
