My family and I had the pleasure of dining at Taste of North India on Friday night, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience. The restaurant was quite busy, which is always a great sign of its popularity. Despite the high foot traffic, the establishment was immaculately clean, and the staff was exceptionally welcoming and attentive. From the moment we walked in, we felt a warm and inviting atmosphere, which added to the overall dining experience.
The ambiance was another highlight of the evening. The restaurant has a pleasant and cozy setting, perfect for both families and groups of friends looking to enjoy authentic Indian cuisine. The lighting, décor, and seating arrangement were thoughtfully designed, creating a comfortable environment to savor our meal.
We ordered a variety of dishes, including chicken biryani, butter chicken, chicken tikka, assorted naans, plain rice, samosas, pani puri, chicken korma, dal makhani, and a few other items. The presentation of each dish was appealing, and the flavors were rich and authentic. I was particularly impressed with the portion sizes—generous yet well-balanced—ensuring great value for money. While the pricing may be slightly on the higher side, I believe it is justified given the high-quality ingredients, excellent preparation, and top-notch service.
As a chef myself, I truly appreciated the effort that went into crafting each dish. However, I personally felt that the chicken biryani could be improved in terms of its depth of flavor and texture. That being said, this was a minor concern in an otherwise outstanding dining experience.
Overall, Taste of North India exceeded our expectations in terms of food, service, and ambiance. If you are in the area and craving authentic Indian cuisine, I highly recommend giving this place a try—you won’t be disappointed. We are already looking forward to...
Read moreI dined here twice with my indian vegetarian parents, and wow!! Taste of North India was outstanding! From being warmly greeted at the entrance, being seated, having some menu items explained, the service was above and beyond throughout. The food was beyond excellent too. The seekh kebabs and Keema somosas were flawless entrees. The rotis, naans and kulchas were cooked perfectly. The spice level for nearly all dishes can be customised. We tried an assortment of mild and medium dishes, and while the chilli level was tailored to our order no flavour was compromised at all. Each dish was authentic, balanced, and perfectly flavoured. The goat curry was an absolute delight, while the paneer tikka masala was just perfect. The saag paneer was lovely, and dhal was seriously impressive considering we rarely order dhal at restaurants since we make it at home so often. Fish tikka was mouth watering and cooked perfectly. The Gulab jamun came as we requested, nice and hot and were delicious. Just the right amount of syrup too. The masala tea to finish the dinner was just sublime, especially when sweetened.
We had such a wonderful dinner here we came back again after 4 nights and it was consistently excellent.
If you see Indians like us walking out of an Indian restaurant with beaming smiles, as we had here, you know it's going to be something special.
Thoroughly enjoyed it and looking forward to...
Read moreDuring our recent visit to Coffs Harbour, my family of seven had the pleasure of dining at Taste of North Indian twice. Each visit left us thoroughly impressed with the food and overall experience.
We tried a variety of dishes including Cheese and Garlic Naan, Butter Chicken, Goat Curry, Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Korma, Samosas, Mixed Entree, and Pani Puri, among others. Each dish was a burst of authentic flavors, with the Butter Chicken being particularly rich and creamy, while the Goat Curry offered a tender, flavorful experience. The Cheese and Garlic Naan was soft, fluffy, and the perfect complement to the curries.
The service was friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. However, the restaurant does get quite busy, and we noticed a slightly longer wait time for food, especially during peak hours. One downside was that the portion sizes seemed a bit on the smaller side for the price. While the quality of the food justified the cost, it may feel a bit expensive for those seeking larger portions.
Despite this, I would highly recommend Taste of North Indian to any food lover visiting Coffs Harbour. The delightful flavors and welcoming atmosphere make it a must-try spot for anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine. We will definitely return the next time...
