We found the service awful here . We ordered a jug of Coke Zero and had to take our plastic cups back to the bar as they were stuck together and stunk of fowl dishwasher water . Only to be handed ones similar . So I rinsed them myself before using them. We ordered 2x grazier rump $34 and our 2x toddlers one being diabetic decided they didnât want chips and nuggets and just a bowl of fruit . So I asked the servers if they could make up a little fruit salad for them which they agreed . We were charged $88 in total for this . We waited an hour and a half for our meals and others who ordered after us with more complicated orders (members I believe ) got there orders first. When our food arrived I questioned the server and asked where the rest of the fruit was as we were charged $10 each kid ($20 extra ) for 2 slices of watermelon and 2 slices of orange. He at the time said heâs not sure thatâs what the kitchen generally serves. When I explained to him how much we paid extra and that I had asked for a fruit bowl for each kid and wanted a manager . He said heâll go speak to the manager and came back . Others around us who waited longer for there food wished us luck (also visitors with children ) The same bloke came back saying he was the manager of the night and said for mash and veg with our rump itâs an extra $4 and it states on the menu (which it doesnât ) and we were only charged $6 each bowl . But I told him it was still a crazy amount for what we had received and showed that in the time it took him to walk to the bar and back the kids had demolished there fruit and we would now have to go buy food else where to fill them . He was unbothered by this and said he would refund me if it was more than $6 . But there was no where on the menu that stated mash and veg was extra. And our mash was hardly a spoon full, a slither of corn , a couple pieces of carrot and 3 pieces of broccoli with a toddler hand sized rump. It was also a little birthday dinner for our 3 year old and it was absolutely awful for him to wait an hour and a half for that . When we had told them they were getting a âyummy fruit salad â to entertain them until the food had arrived . For the poor service and being ripped off 100000% will never eat here again and I donât recommend this place for people...
Read moreJust sitting at my table for the second night in a row and thought I would write a review while I was waiting for my dinner to come. I'm a local of 53 years in Coffs Harbour and have frequented the Greenhouse Tavern many times. But over the last 12 months it has been my go to place for dinner and a lemon lime and bitters in lieu of cooking dinner at home. Not sure who else works in the kitchen but there are two Nepalese Chef's that make the best curries. Came here last night after the gym and had Thai Green chicken curry with basmatti rice and naan bread. Scrumdidlyumteous, so I have come back tonight to have it again. There Lamb curry dish is the same with basmatti rice and naan bread. Big chunks of chicken and lamb in both dishes. Another favourite is Braised Lamb shank on mashed potato, green peas and rosemary sauce which I add carrots and broccoli for an extra $4.00. If I really want to go all out, I indulge in the Warm chocolate brownie with white chocolate ganache and vanilla bean ice cream or Sticky date pudding with butterscotch sauce and vanilla bean ice cream. The bar staff are alway very friendly. Walked in tonight and Sol said " lemon lime and bitters" I thought, their you go they even remember what I drink. Do yourself a favour and come down for dinner. Bring family and friends. You won't be...
Read moreVery disappointing evening at the Greenhouse Tavern. i should have taken note of other reviews I read. Food ok but terrible service and extremely rude staff. We went with our extended family of 10 on Boxing Day. Was told we could not place order for more than 8 meals at once so we had to do separate 2 orders and our food then consequently came out at all different times (some of our group finished whilst others were still waiting on meals). We had to wait for an hour for our meals even though the place was only one third full and when we finally went to order dessert at 8:33pm we were told that the kitchen had closed 3min earlier. When we politely suggested that perhaps in future they could advise customers that the kitchen is closing at 8:30 when people are ordering meals or put up a sign or something to advise customers, all we got was a shrug and indifference from the manager and a whinge that it was a public holiday and they had been really busy night and they had enough of demanding customers and It was too bad we missed the kitchen. Like wow. Ever think that maybe if you have a lot of demanding customers it is because you are doing...
