The food is 3 to 4 stars. Was here for the first time and was not impressed. The Mongolian Lamb I had was dripping in oil. For a 26 dollar dish I would expect a small bowl of rice included, cost around 50 cent maybe. The spring roles were ok but also nothing really special. The dumplings were good!
Now to the service: We waited for around 10 minutes till we asked one of the 3 service staff floating around to maybe give us a card so we could order. Wasn't even that full, so I don't understand how you can oversee us. This is probably what you get if the young inexperienced staff. I have to say though that they were very friendly.
I also order a coke for $ 4,50 which was just presented in a 300ml bottle. After asking for a glas and ice I was looked at as though there was something wrong about my request. If I order a 300ml coke for 4,50 I think I can request a glas with frozen water in it.
Paying the bill: This was then the end of any further visits. You have to walk up to the counter to pay for your food which is fine! We had 2 separate dishes which we wanted to pay individually. Was around 32 dollars and 26 dollars. The lady at the counter said this is not possible and we can only pay half the bill each. I then asked why this is the case and was told the line of people waiting was to long to add 2 x 2 dishes together and pay separately. This answer was garbage because there was 1 person waiting behind us and I then said that we will wait.
We waited for around 2 minutes and then started our paying ordeal again. I asked the lady why we cant just separate both meals and pay our fair share. She said that this was not wished by the management. I said that i have never herd of this before (I have worked in gastronomy for 10 years) and then told her to put my 26 + 4,50 bill into the card machine and then subtract the full amount off the bill to get the other amount for the other guest. She did this then and I shook my head in disbelief. The whole procedure took about 30 seconds longer than to pay it in one go and it wasn't even full. After this whole joke you can honestly go to the food court and buy Chinese for half the price and not feel like someone who just got ripped off and you were served by 4th graders. I find it a shame because this place defiantly...
Read moreFood-5* We've been twice since opening, food is actually really good, dim sims and dumplings come looking as shown on the menu, and the mains are huge, the price would suggest something slightly over priced but each dish is massive and is easily shareable on the table. The house made chilli oil which is given to you when dining in is one of the best I've tried, If you like Asian cooking you'll know they pride themselves on the chilli. Quick service for take away considering how busy they were.
Service-3* We dined in on opening night, the wait staff were obviously in over there head as the place was packed, poor service can be excused when its the first night they are open, however lots of the little things were missed, menu didn't arrive when we were seated, no one to take our drinks etc. Every member of staff was very considerate and apologetic for things missed. When ordering takeaway, mistakes were made on the order, again understandable because of how busy they were.
All in all it is a great addition to night time dining in coffs harbour and I can't wait to eat...
Read moreNew update.26/10/2024 I was in Coffs thought I would try it again and see if there was any change. Unfortunate it was the same as last time! Everything cooked super fast tasted very average, the dim sum where cold in the middle, The fried rice was served cold, The teriyaki chicken was really hot but very cheap sauce. Lots of onion! The soup dumplings shocking!!!!
I went to this shopping centre for a massage, and we where hungry so we went to the dumpling bar, I was a little bit let down when the food came out only because, if your calling yourself a dumpling bar, there should be someone making fresh dumplings not serving pre made frozen dumpling, the chicken and corn soup was massive for the price, it was like 6 dollars we had two serves each there was two people adults, this could easily be enough for 4 people to share! The San chow boo was a little peppery and not the best quality pork, there was also no veggies! It was ok good but nothing to rave about, staff where off with the pixies...
