Lithgow Palace Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in New South Wales

Dropped in on way home from work to get dinner. Ordered 4x Steamed Dim Sim, 1x Short Soup (Won Tons), 1x Curried King Prawn and 1x Large Special Fried Rice.

Steam Dim Sims come with a thick gelatenous goop that is meant to be Sweet & Sour Sauce. One would think that Soy Sauce would be more appropriate sauce to serve with steam Dim Sims since 99% of Chinese Restaurants serve their's with Soy Sauce.

Never got my serve of Short Soup as ordered. Instead was handed a serving of Long Soup instead. After throwing away what tasted like Spaghetti (not noodle) and sampling the "chicken broth" it was decided to ditch this dish in the bin. The broth was as tasty as a glass of warm water.

The Curried King Prawn was loaded with heaps of fresh vegetables and 5x tiny prawns no bigger then a 10c piece. The prawns used were not fresh but were also frozen and tasteless. The curry used was overpowering in taste and was definitely of the Keens variety.

Now this would have to be the most unspecial fried rice I have ever tasted. There was a tiny slither of boiled chicken and 1x piece of BBQ pork in the serving. Whilst yes it did have taste, one couldn't enjoy it after consuming the curried prawn because all you could taste was Keen's Curry Powder.

Would have to be the most un-savoury chinese meals I have had. If I didn't live at Blackheath I would've been happy to have taken it back and requested a full refund. The food is a major let down to...

Dined in today with my typically high maintenance five year old. Wasn’t full but several tables arrived at once just after us so the wait staff were back and forth with their hands full. Helpful and kind patient people sorting out my several back to back requests. Real sad we couldn’t stick around for dessert. We ordered plain rice and honey chicken and fried rice and sweet and sour pork. I absolutely love my Chinese food but haven’t had any decent in many years so don’t go often. The lunch special pricing were too good to resist and the food came out quickly. Hand on heart it was the best Chinese food I’ve had since childhood. It was 11/10. Unfortunately had to box it up as my kid was done with restaurant life in minutes. It was freaking spectacular. So much so that I waited for him to fall asleep in the car and ate one of our takeaway boxes on the way home. My partner and I are staying at a near by hotel on holiday and chose this place for dinner and were very disappointed 😞. The food was clearly not fresh for starters. I ordered the calamari rings as an entree and they were rubbery, my partner ordered the Mongolian lamb and couldn't finish it as it was over the top oily. For my main I ordered the 5 in 1 combo, the rice was bland and seemed qutie old (the prawns tasted reheated) the sweet and sour pork was nice and so was the chicken, the prawn cocktail was disappointing to say the least.
