I wasn't going to provide any details on my review as a form of respect for the business, as mistakes with food can happen. However, since I received a firm reply from the owner of the venue, I will elaborate on the reason for my 1 star food rating:
I don't know who Randell is, I was there with my partner, that's not her name and it was only the two of us.
I liked the service and atmosphere very much, deservedly of the 4 stars. (I have now reviewed this down to 1 star for each, due to the reply received).
I ordered the the smashed avo ($20). Unfortunately, the avocado was old and the lemon ricotta tasted off. I had food poisoning from that meal and was physically sick and vomiting for most of the day.
I believe honest reviews are essential for the constant improvement of our hospitality venues, please see the owner's reply below (in case they delete it):
"Response from the owner 3 hours ago hey there dan,
thanks for coming in today now I am not too sure why you gave a 1 star review with no context but seeing it was done literally 20 min after the lovely Randell below I can only assume you where the other guest at the table and wanted to chime in on the review he left you also through your history only give 1 stars, may I suggest that if you are so un-happy with everyones businesses I feel maybe you should leave the keyboard warrior- ing a rest,...
Read moreAs a resident of the locale, The Tin Shed used to be "the" place to go for great coffee food and charm in Lithgow. Not any more. Went out as a treat for brekky with partner as he had forgotten he had wend off. I've been so busy with work, haven't been out for ages and so wasn't aware of change in management at The Tin Shed. Firstly if you were thinking fluffy pancakes for a change, forget it, there aren't any. New menu looks great, lists all as vego, gluten free and vegan options which is wonderful if you're a vego like me. But failed to deliver. Presentation was poor and the house made baked beans I'm sure we're out of a tin as I cook with them all the time, and then discovered what I think was a pork sausage after I told the wait staff " I am a vegetarian". Was so hungry as it was after 11am, I decided to remove the scantily chopped snag, pass it over to my non-vego partner and hope for the best. Partner had bacon and egg roll and said when it arrived " Is that my $20 egg and bacon roll". The wait staff would be good at a wake. Seriously, solemn faces and low energy. (Really, am sorry guys if you've lost someone in your inner circle). Had a great time as was out with partner for a change, but...

Just across from the courthouse, Met by 2 very friendly staff and waited to be seated.
Once seated in the nice toasty surrounds with vaulted ceiling We were served as soon as we were ready, even though the place was busy.
We ordered the chicken schnitzel burger and chips and a cappuccino.
Burger was just fantastic ,chicken snit was freshly crumbed and deep fried, fresh brioche bun, house pickles ,mayo, tomato and smashed avo with lemon aoli.
Chips were just sensational , rustic part skin on with an epic amount of crunch yet soft inside.
The coffee was outstanding , im a coffee aficionado And this rates in the top 3 coffees ever.
This is worth the trip from sydney just to pop in.
Staff were extremely nice and they worked so well like a well oiled machine, they definitely are on to a good thing.
Do yourself a favour and pop in , they do take away And their covid approach is the best ive seen for any business , constant cleaning ,a customer register and hand cleaner, any customer who left their table was well cleaned top to bottom instantly.
If i could give more stars i would.
