Oporto Berkeley Vale Drive Thru — Restaurant in New South Wales

I’m sorry to do this as much as I loved my fellow former co-workers at Oporto so much but, this place needs to be shut down. My time there was beyond miserable and the owners are incompetent and wasteful, valuing money over absolutely everything “Don’t give them choices” a direct quote from an owner to me.

Why don’t we talk about Back Of House where the place was constantly entertained by workers on their phones or having inappropriate conversations on the daily? I used my phone too and never got penalized like I should’ve.

The food is lackluster and usually awful because unless a miracle happens there is close to zero synergy with front and back of house. Usually the on shift manager is too busy scrolling through tiktok to help until you bother her/him enough (this isn’t true for every on shift manager) to help, colour me not surprised at all the angry customers cause I am angry too. I’m angry at the lack of true training anyone in that Oporto has had there, I’m angry at the fact that it is owned by people who simply want their employees to gut the most money out of their customers who are struggling unlike these owners…..you will get shut down and that day will be wonderful cause it means you won’t earn from The suffering of...

Ordered online as per the signs all over the joint were saying and watched multiple people who ordered in person get their food. Waiting another 20 minutes before we went up to the counter to ask and found out it had been sitting on the bench for the entire time- they had not called it out. Proceeded to mention that they had called all other orders and not ours yet ours was sitting there the longest. They then said sorry so we sat down to eat. The music in there was atrocious in that I would never take any kids there because of the f this f that going on over the speakers full blast. We then proceeded to see them sneezing over the fryers in the kitchen and one lady had her hair going all over the place and not a hair net in sight. Very hygienic. This place is always a total shambles. The staff are all extremely young and are clearly being trained by incompetence, so have no hope. We have given them too many chances and will not go back. The menu constantly changes, the staff are too busy socializing with each other and are quite happy to make every customer wait, and management couldn’t care less. It’s very clear that both the owners and management have no idea what they’re doing and expect people to pay for ordinary food with zero service. The last time we went the young man at the window refused to add the points to my app for our purchase and advised like every visit that the scanner wasn’t working and just walked away.
