The Village Emporium — Restaurant in New South Wales

The central coast has some of the finest coffee shops and restaurants any where in the world. I go out for coffee every day of the week and enjoy trying new places. I love the new experience of going to a new coffee shop. This is the first place I can remember where I have been disappointed in the hundreds of coffee shops I have been to. I could not drink the Almond milk coffee that was presented to me as In my opinion it was rubbish. When I approached the barista to say that I did not like this coffee and could he possibly make me a soy instead. He said yes but I would have to pay for it. I was shocked and could not believe what I had just heard. I only asked for a soy as it was evident that this barista could not make a good almond milk coffee. Every barista I have every spoken to prides themselves and making the best coffee they can and will do almost anything to try and make a coffee that makes the customer happy. This barista did not care. He did not even enquire as to why I could not drink the coffee. All he could say was , You would have to pay for another one. In my opinion he should not be calling himself a barista. There are so many good coffee shops with passionate barista's that I would steer clear of this place till they get someone who cares about...

We ordered takeaway food, a smashed avo with feta, halloumi and bacon and also scrambled eggs on toast add bacon. We didn’t receive the bacon with the smashed avo even tho we paid for it. Poached eggs were undercooked and had all the white gluggy bits and everything was cold as well as the toast being burnt. The scrambled eggs were watery and had burnt bits throughout. Also cold. Bacon undercooked and received one small rasher. Also had to wait 20 minutes after we received the hot chocolate and chai. We live a 2 minute drive from the cafe, do not understand how it all was cold by the time we got home. Service was nice and they were all friendly. If you deliver via Uber Eats or any other app, do not attempt a collection from this store. They have refused to bag their coffees as per the delivery contracts to prevent spillage when hiking up customer hilled driveways or to prevent spillage when needing two hands to hold onto railings. I cancelled the order and left the coffees with them, then they lied to Uber that I took the coffees, thinking I would get banned. Deceptive and malicious people.
