Darren has good sea food at the standard price across the industry ... however what is seriously lacking in this 90s style fish shop is the lack of basic information about their products.. Particularly in regards too if its farmed or has been grow with substainable farming practices or are an endangered spieces of marine life... and its location source ect ect.... Drtails are ususlly just a name with no details like most other fish shops ... its like when shopping for wine and their labels only state red pink or white and no other details regardless of the asking price. Particularly a concern for non biolodical food sources like Salmon which is known as a food source on the worlds 10 most toxic foods list becuase of the way its grown in concerntrated marine farm feed lots .. and fed with anti biotics to survive and toxic food chemical to re colour its flesh from white to red =...

Been ordering fish & chips from Darron’s Seafood for half a decade now due to it being local and a short walk away for me. This place has never let me down once unlike some other food venues on the Central Coast. Their fish & chips are nicely done, always good to go with a bit of chicken salt and a cool soda, absolutely delicious. The place itself operates extremely well under pressure, being able enough to get orders out to myself and everyone else in a patient and timely manner especially when there’s at least a dozen people either in the line to order something or standing/sitting outside waiting for their order numbers to be called. This review is an example of what quality service looks like. Well...

I had heard good things about Darron's being the best take away fish and chips on the coast. It's not. When I visited, the shop was not busy, a couple of orders in the queue. However, the batter was very heavy, the fish inside didn't taste fresh and didn't flake like you'd expect and the chips were average. The battered fish was also overcooked. My order was pretty slowly taken and when my order was ready, it sat in the pick up window for 4 to 5 mins when it was ready for someone to put it in a bag and call my number, which is a little annoying. You can call them in advance and order (I didn't), which is convenient which is why. I give them two stars as it wasn't awful, but it was far from great or...

Unfortunately that must be one of the worst seafood experiences I’ve ever encountered. We waited for close to 40 minutes for takeaway fish and chips, kids cocktails and serving of salt & pepper grilled fish. By the time it was served the first 2 bags had been sitting for over 15min. I asked if that was ours, but was told NO….. only to have it given along with the remaining serving of kids fish. By the time it was presented I could feel the bottom packs were already cold. I arrived home within 5 min and after opening the bags, even the kids couldn’t eat theirs. Everything was cold, overcooked and completely dry….. Below are images of them as they were served up in the pack.

The worst value for money on the coast. $10 for a piece of fish that compares to the size of a chip or a cutup piece of lemon!. I have never had a fish this small.. What you see in this cardboard tub is 2 portions of fish so $20 worth of fish. staff hung up on me when i tried to speak to manager. Seriously i dont think this guy and his poor excuse for staff have any idea of customer service and good value. I will reiterate, do not waste your time and money buying from this shop, they dont value customer loyalty and obviously couldnt care less about customer satisfaction. AVOID!! unfortunatley i had to give 1 star rating otherwise it would have been in the negatives!

Unlimited chicken salt and sauces? YES PLEASE! We Ordered the Large fish and chips, 2 crab claws and 4 calamari rings $20 - bargain! Fresh, crispy, light batter. They also sell fresh seafood and it feels like the Sydney Fish Markets inside. Not a 5 star because they ran out of seafood sticks and quality of chips were inconsistent. This was at 11am on a sunday. However, still Highly recommended and we look forward to coming back :).
