Bluey's Bistro & Smokehouse — Restaurant in Newcastle-Maitland

So went here for birthday dinner last night with the fam and it had been on my radar for a while now, being a smoked meats enthusiast that I am, I was very impressed by how good the food was! All 11 of us were very happy with our meals, some got the chicken burgers, steak and wings and my partner & I got the smoked meats platter for 2 and it was bloody unreal! For $78, the serving size was massive, as were the other meals. I’ve had my fair share of brisket & pulled pork and this was honestly some of the best that I’ve had, especially from a restaurant. Brisket was smokey, flavoursome & tender (the thinner end was a little dry (just dip in bbq sauce 👌🏼), but the thicker end was really moist), the pork was packed with flavour and super tender too. The ribs were super tender & flavoursome as well. Highly recommended trying this place out if you’re into smoked meats! Also get the house bbq sauce & chipotle aioli, both go perfect with everything. We had a very unpleasant experience at Blueys Bistro and Smokehouse at Cardiff RSL. From the moment we walked in, the staff were rude and dismissive—not just to the adults, but shockingly towards our children as well. The attitude was unwelcoming and downright disrespectful, making us feel like we were an inconvenience just for being there.

What should have been a fun family birthday dinner turned into an uncomfortable experience due to the staff's poor attitude and lack of basic courtesy. I took a client for lunch today and was absolutely disgusted to watch the female chef pick up food that was under the heat light and rearrange it on the plate with no gloves on , then continued to go and prepare other meals after licking her fingers and just wiping them on a tea towel . Then putting her un gloved hand into a box of salad and placing it on the plate. My client was absolutely horrified at what she had witnessed,We I asked for a refund straight away and explained why .
