The third trip to NEWY FRIED CHICKEN... AND chasing the demon of "Off Menu Hot ★★★★★ Heat™️ , and s*** is still Lit with a capital L in more than one way. Many places either a. Claim hot without delivering on the heat, or b. Deliver only heat and no flavour/gastronomic, compositional thought to showcasing the spice mix to the palette of the diners-who-dare. Having done a tour of the spicy chook spectrum—everything from Thai and Viet birds eye varietals to Korean Gojuchara and many attempts at the Nashville rub, NFC is not only worth it's digital currency in hype but also a try in real life if you're about that food that will throw you into the next dimension. The flavour is deep and bright, like a sour plum that has soaked in cinnamon, all spice and salt. It's absolutely delicious and worth the hell you'll experience immediately after and the next day. The in-store challenge is to finish 4(?) of the wings without any drink or sides in one sitting. If you do, you make the Wall of Fame, proudly posted on the shop's feature wall. If not, you, much like your bowel movements, are posted up in the bathroom. You can also just enjoy the stellar fried chicken, natty wine and craft beer selection, and sides. I've been told they serve THE BEST Fried Chicken Burger/Sandwich around... pretty big call but on sight alone, worth a nomination for the title. It's such a vibe that the team at NFC really put a lot of care into. My recco: test your might and order a flight (of tenders)

Five stars for a great local business! For the money the value is there in product and service. Have met Nick (owner) and Fox and these guys have been so accommodating. If a crunchy chicken burger with crinkle cut fries is on your mind (and you must get the smokey honey mustard with that) then this is your joint. It's a small establishment with a great story. The owner has put so much time and effort into upcycling and sourcing great decor. Eat inside at the bar, a table or a booth, or sit outside. There's a well appointed restroom, all needs considered. I've been twice now and love the spicy mayo burger. Plenty of menu items to choose from - choose your level of heat and even go "off-menu" if you think you can handle it. I've taken a bite out of the hottest wings they can produce, it is not for the feint-hearted!! Great customer service, relaxed diner atmosphere, pay at the till or skip the queue and order via the table QR code which will reveal ALL the menu items. Easy parking and wheelchair accessible. There needs to be more places like this! Keep it up.

@NewcastleLive named @NewyFriedChicken as the best fried chicken so I came to check it out. I got the Basket of Chicken Tenders, Southern Style, Crinkle Cut Chips and a Snickerdoodle for dessert. Tender well cooked chicken, thin crunchy flavoured coating with a lovely light crunch, what more could you want? So tasty. I also love crinkle cut chips and these were so yum. The Snickerdoodle is an aerated like cookie with a sugar and cinnamon coating. Pretty tasty and interesting, kind of doughnuty in a way in terms of flavour. On a hot day I also appreciated the air conditioning and friendly service goes along way too. #Americanfood #friedchicken #SouthernFriedChicken #crinklecutchips #snickerdoodle #dessert #sweettooth #newcastle #newcastlensw #newcastleaustralia @newcastle_nsw_Australia #newcastlefoodies #newcastlefoodie #newyfoodie #newyeats #novacastrian @zomatoaus #letsguide

This place was a massive let down in every way. I went with my girlfriend and a couple of our friends. We'd heard good things on social media. Me and my girlfriend had raising cane's in the states previously and thought it was really good, so we wanted to give this a shot since it was comparing itself to it a lot, and even had a raising cane's box, themed after their central meal on their menu.

We started by walking into the diner. The seating is terrible, so despite there only being 8 or so tables taken, there was nowhere for us to eat, so we had to get take out. This required us to walk down the street to an entirely separate building to do that. No big deal though.

My friends order about 2 minutes before my girlfriend and I. There was nobody else actively ordering at the time. Despite this, my friends get an estimated time of getting their food 15 minutes prior to us. I must have screwed up by not syncing our orders at the exact same time, my bad! Since we can't eat there, we're waiting to go to the beach and eat. Their food comes out 10 minutes early. Mine comes out 15 minutes late. Basically meaning their food has been sitting for over 30 minutes by the time we're driving to the beach.

Horrid service aside, the food we got was a chicken burger on my side and my girlfriend got the raising cane's box with a side of macaroni. My friends got tenders and some mexican fries. My friends food was a mediocre, mostly cold, mess. That was expectable given how long it had sit. What I did not expect was our food. The tenders in my girlfriend's box were half soggy, despite us having got them about 5 minutes ago. The breading was also completely flavorless, like it had not been seasoned at all. The sauce was not on par with raising cane's sauce. The chips were somehow cold. Not lukewarm, but actually cold. The macaroni had no flavor what so ever, it just tasted like cream mixed with macaroni, boxed craft mac and cheese is significantly better. They gave us a burger bun with a light misting of butter on it, which is not comparable to the texas toast you get at raising cane's either. The chicken burger I got, which was extra spicy, STILL had no flavor other than being a bit spicier. I suppose it was a step up in that the seasoning involved one ingredient, cayenne pepper. The bun was mediocre and it was half drowned in sauce.

I want to stress, this doesn't have to be as good as raising cane's. But I expected it to be better than or AT LEAST on par with KFC, when it's not even in the same league as it. I genuinely have never been so disappointed in fried chicken in my entire life as this experience easily ranks among the worst fried chicken I've ever had.

The ONLY good thing about the place is that the sauces were not half bad. The people were also not rude, and seemed apologetic, but like they didn't know what they were doing or something. For two of us, myself only getting a sandwich, and us getting two cans of soda, we spent 68 dollars which is absurd. I like supporting local businesses, but given how abysmal the experience is here, do yourself a favor and...

Hello My name is Noah, just moved to the area. I have nothing bad to say or to complain. However quite the contrary. I wanna say how Amazingly I was treated at this establishment. I went with my partner, and we didn’t realise we had to book and it was quite busy! However this young Fella named Tundae (which I hope i’m spelling correctly forgive me) greeted me and said he was sorry but told us to come back in 15 minutes. Me and my partner were more than happy to because your restaurant was very vibrant and look amazing to eat at so we went for a walk around. When we came back you guys were still busy and he apologised again and we said don’t worry about it and we went for another walk around. When we came back he had a table for us ready! When we sat down he brought the menus and never in all my life has anyone read out a menu to me about all their restaurants favourites, how spicy things were, and he’s genuine favourites. Yes it is small however he said it with such happiness and charisma I was really blown away! After we pretty much brought the restaurants entire menu LOL he came back and asked if we enjoyed and we absolutely loved the food it was amazing! He and a lovely lady apologised for the wait and were really appreciative that me and my partner were happy to wait and were respectful. I never usually want to make review or any comment. But I just had to say the service from tundae (once again i hope i’m spelling that correct) Was amazing and the lady who was out the front was very respectful and helpful as well. I love seeing young people like myself really treat people nicely and respectfully and also appreciate when it is reciprocated. I could tell sometimes they would get some angry customers! Just wanted to say this. Thank you Tundae!!! (I am sorry if i’m...
