Absolutely disgraceful with what the bistro manager did to me and my family today. We had a table booked for Motherâs Day and I was given a high table which my elderly mother would not been able to sit in. When I made the booking I requested for a normal table. The manager was absolutely disgusting in his attitude towards me. Could not offer any other table told me âtake it or leave itâ. I told him he was a poor manager and right in front of my kids he told me âI was a poor motherâ. My kids witnessed all of this. My mother has lived in New Lambton for over 40 years and this is how we were treated. SHAME on you!!!!!! Could someone from the General Roberts please contact me as this was very abusive behaviour and Iâm still in shock!! ???
Update Received a phone call back from Cale (Licensee Manager) wasnât the best response. Because of my review and my social media post he had his back up. The conversation didnât end well. He said if I would have come to him first he could have resolved the situation. I do understand this but I did call the pub the day before and spoke with the bar manager. I have every right to make a complaint and leave my feedback. I wonât be shutting up!!!! He was so awful said he spoke to 3 different staff and Iâm the one who had my back up. No other staff were around it was in the middle of dinning area. I asked him if he could review the camera footage and he said he wouldnât have time to do this. Iâm lost for words!!!!    Read moreWe checked in this hotel 29/09 2pm and left this hotel one and half hours later. When we opened the door just on arrival, the door key was broken and one part was stuck. We went to reception desk for help. Then in the next one hour, the staff(he said he is hotel manager) and the locksmith fixed this problem, and told us they would charge us $50 because we broke the key. We thought this was not our responsibility and whether any policy related to this charge. The manager ask us to check with the website where we booked this hotel. During I was talking with the staff from wotif.com,my husband found the small heater under the window was broken as well. My husband took the photo and then talked to the reception about this. That manager said: the heater was ok this morning, you broke it. It can be imagined in this situation how angry we were, and my husband even wanted to call the police.I talked to wotif staff we couldn't tolerate this staff and this situation ,and couldn't stay at this hotel for the next 2 days. Wotif staff helped us cancel the booking. Before we left this hotel, that manager was holding a note and checked the room in front of us and said he needed to check any damage. We were not sure whether he was intentionally doing that, but we felt being humiliated. We felt so upset in the first day of our holiday even now we are settling in another hotel.
