If I knew how to get this place shut down, I would. There is no way this place isn’t a money laundering operation that just happens to be on one of the busiest streets in Philip Island.

From start to finish, this experience was a disaster. We were standing around awkwardly for five minutes before someone even acknowledged our existence, then shoved us in a back table where we were promptly forgotten about. We tried for ten minutes to get someone’s attention to place our order, and despite making eye contact with several of the servers and trying to wave them over, they just kept walking! We should have left then, but we have an awful habit of thinking the best of people so in the end my partner went and made our order back at the front desk.

They then messed up the order twice - we ordered a half carafe of wine but they brought just one glass, then they tried to charge us for a full carafe at bill time. Excuse us, what? We also ordered fried rice to go with our main but it never arrived, but they were more than happy to leave it on the bill until we corrected them again. Guys, honestly, this will be your experience. Just don’t go here!

They also only brought us just one plate for sharing the entrees, no bowls until we asked for them, at which point the only English speaking server stopped actually saying ANYTHING to us - no apology for forgetting in the first place or anything 😂. Absolutely incredible lack of ownership or responsibility for not doing a basic service job.

Curry puffs felt like they’d been in a freezer for six months, the chicken tasted like it had been powdered - maccas does a better job than this place. Honestly, please avoid this place and don’t give them another cent! The best location in the world cannot fix this - where is Gordon Ramsay when you need him? They need a good lesson in food, service and basic human kindness. My Aussie nan makes better satay chicken...

Unfortunately this review is negative based on service received tonight (or lack there of) I will start by saying that I usually like Wing Lock’s food and so this isn’t a quality issue.

It is a Saturday night in the middle of Winter so not school or summer holidays during busy periods etc

I placed a phone order at 6.45pm for 1x vegetable fried rice and the staff advised me to arrive in 20 minutes at 6.05pm.

My partner arrived and advised the place was absolutely chaotic, front desk staff advised they couldn’t advise when it would be ready and multiple people complaining that they were waiting for table orders and phone orders for a long period of time.

He waited for a further 20 minutes until he got in line to cancel his order which we were finally able to do 30-35 minutes AFTER the original pick up time we were told.

Now I completely understand they had some sort of issues in house and had become busy off season, but you should not be accepting phone orders or at the very least give a correct pick up time and now allow customers to come at the time you tell them and have them wait forever (note: it was very obvious this issue had started before we placed our order as my partner had been talking to other people who had been waiting for their own orders 40-60 minutes already)

Poor service...

Service is terrible at a tuesday night after 9pm, wasn't busy, but female owner is super stubborn, 'no curry in Singapore noodle, only chili', but when we changed it to fried Kway Teow, 'no chili in Kway Teow, only plain!' Gosh, we are not fussy people and the flavour we asked is what you get in every other restaurant by standard, and she walked away to the next table as we were speechless for 2 seconds, and said' when you make up your mind'. What a rude woman! Two minutes later she said to the Aussie people at next table 'no fresh chili', they were speechless for 2 sec like us, the owner raised voice 'no fresh chili, only chili oil!' What the he××, I mean, say it nicely, or make a whatever excuse, better than saying it with a dead face impatiently like everyone is bothering her, what is wrong with her??? So if you are looking for basic manered service, avoid here, unless it's after 9pm, and you don't want bother looking around to find what else...
