Anerie is not only an exceptional French restaurant on Phillip Island, but I recently visited with our 10 and 12-year-old kids (whom I normally wouldn't take to such a place) and were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome we received from the staff.
The menu features classic French dishes that are simply outstanding. We had the baked Camembert, snails, French onion soup, prawns, duck spring rolls, steak, mushroom risotto, muscles, and duck, and every dish was absolutely delicious.
What makes Anerie truly stand out is the amazing service. The staff is not only friendly and welcoming, but also knowledgeable about the menu and wine selection. They were also incredibly patient and accommodating with our kids, making sure they were comfortable and happy throughout the meal.
We celebrated a special occasion at Anerie, and it was a perfect choice. The ambiance is cozy and charming, and the staff went above and beyond to make our evening truly special. I couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate my birthday.
In summary, Anerie is an exceptional restaurant with amazing food and service, and there's no doubt that we'll be back for another fantastic...
Read moreDisappointing! The moment I stepped in the place is very small and very crowded. The person that was working there was too busy to care we were waiting to be sited and then to be told we can only sit at the bar. The staff are arrogant and not worth my time and money. Happy to give this place a miss all together. Thank you for your not so great experience.
The response from the restaurant is innacurate. I dont have a baby or a cot. I was not asked to sit and wait at the bar for 15 minutes - i would have been more than happy to do so. The plates were already there and was told that is the only place available. If you have been booked out why would you accept my booking? Yes the restaurant is small, perhaps too small for the number of people you were trying to fit in on the night. By the way my feedback is not accurate or cruel. The way i was treated was disrespectfull. All the very best to your restaurant, looks like the food you are cooking is great and unfortunatelly i wasnt givent the privilage to enjoy it. You might want to think about how you manage the front of house and set the expectation for the people that lookforward...
Read moreWe really enjoyed coming here in the early days when they were open for lunch which ran into the afternoon then dinner. We had an afternoon tea sort of thing for my birthday. All was good until I asked for dessert. We were told that there were two choices. When I looked to see most had already been consumed earlier. We ordered then while half way through eating, I noticed that at least four more cakes suddenly appeared on the counter from the kitchen. These were clearly for the dinner service. We were annoyed that the owner/staff had done this, it was so obvious. It is a shame because it spoiled the whole experience of the place. At first we welcomed a new restaurant that was open during the day and was different with nice food. Unfortunately before too long they started not opening for lunch, dinner only on certain evenings. This is typical of most cafes/restaurants in Cowes. They are only interested in the tourists. Plus it is heavily over priced. A tiny cup of coffee and cake twice is around $35.00. Further up Thompson Ave for $22.00 you can get two mugs of coffee and two large slices of...
