I want to preface by saying I spoke to the owner as I paid and tried to explain where they could improve, but got nowhere. Was served with attitude and disdain, while being told that they have been running for 52 years and all the people who dine with them love the place and they ONLY have positive feedback. We went for dinner with the kids on a Sunday night. Didn’t expect the place to be as busy as it was, the issues started as soon as we arrived. The line for a table was out the door. Sign says please wait to be seated. There was no one hosting and we had booked and were running 10mins late. I walked in looking for someone to help with my booking as I asked people in line if they had booked. They said no. I approached the owner and two wait staff who looked the other way when I spoke to them. First mistake. Finally someone came past me (the son I’m guessing) and he said I’ll help you in a minute I’m busy, and walked away. Second mistake. We were seated at a table where they had a group of people just sitting and waiting - for what I wonder? Kicked them off but why allow random people to just sit on another’s table? We ordered food - the waitress we had was lovely and helpful. The only positive of the night. Ordered rib eye at $56 prawns at $48 and pasta and salad. Rib eye came with no sides at all, over salted and looked like it had been stewed. Awful. Prawns stunk and were not fresh. Sauce they served it with was horrible. Minimal broccoli. Pasta carbonara was one of the worst we’ve ever had. Apart from my partner’s steak almost all the food was sent back. We were asked if all ok and said no. There’s better on the island. For $180+ not worth your time or money unless you like horrible food cooked badly.

If you’re coming for a lovely venue with stunning views over the to water to the pier, then this is the place to come. If you’re coming for a reasonable meal, then it’s not too bad. If you expect good service and happy staff then think again. But let me focus on the food first. I had the ever so familiar and great comfort food of spaghetti carbonara and garlic bread. The portion size of carbonara was good and the bread not too garlicky. Had a glass of house white to match. I was greeted by an older woman who seated me at a window table. It only took a few minutes for me to decide what to order but took 15 minutes for her to come back and take the order. The meal was prepared in 20 minutes which I consider timely. However, the food was placed on the table with no eye contact or interest or comment. I asked for a second glass of wine and never received it. Hope other staff are more customer focussed and this was a one- off. Restaurant is wheelchair friendly. Reasonable parking in the streets around the area.

ORDERED: 🍝 Orecchiette pasta: Broccoli, garlic, chilli & pangrattato (breadcrumbs) ($27.00) REVIEW: 💛 I'm a fan of the orecchiette shape and it works so well with the chunkiness of the broccoli. The ear-like shape holds the smattering of the breadcrumbs so well! 👂 Add in Isola Di Capri's amazing chilli oil, and it adds depth and excitement to the dish without weighing you down. Their chilli oil is SERIOUSLY the best I've ever had with pasta. Very sad that the tiramisu wasn't available though. You might need to get there before 8:00pm! 😆 Although their closing time is at 8:30pm, we were able to make a reservation for 8 people at 8:00pm. There were still a couple of diners at 9pm and there was no rush to kick anyone out. They're so kind and accommodating. Overall, dining at Isola Di Capri was a great way to end our road trip to Phillip Island. 🚗

I visited this excuse for a restaurant as a group of six, and as soon as we walked in the door we were made to feel unwelcome as anything.

After waiting to be seated, we were told by the charmless waiting staff that he “didn’t care where we sat”.

As a group of six, we were limited to only one bottle of water between us - a peculiar and baffling policy of a hill to die on, even when questioned upon this. There was no attentiveness from staff (once again) to make sure we had adequate water to accompany our food, and even when asking for drinks the service was slow and waits were long.

After a not-so-short wait for the food, we ate our food with which there were no major problems. However, the only thing that staff seemed eager to do was to quickly and unthoughtfully clear our plates while others of the group were still eating: rude, ignorant and inhospitable.

Not only this, which I could hardly believe, the staff even then brought over our bill without us asking whatsoever. This is while they had people waiting for tables, so no consideration whatsoever for current guests - just trying to churn through them and get them in and out of the door as possible.

The seats were wet, the table was dirty and the toilets were gruesome. When going to pay the bill (which we had to go up and pay, rather than the staff go to the courtesy of bringing to their guests’ table), I asked that each person pay for their respective items.

Unbelievably, I was told with no manners or decorum whatsoever that that simply wasn’t a possibility. That it was our problem, and that we either had to pay in one, or split the bill equally.

At this point, I decided it justifiable to bring up the poor experience we had been delivered. Rather than an apology, I was met with insolence and petulance from the older lady who was taking payment. She would not heed any ground and apologise, rather she opted to insult us and would not stop, even with intervention from management.

Rude staff across the board, average food that didn’t justify the price and an all round terribly run operation in this restaurant. Stay away, and choose to spend your...

Worst experience I've had in a long time. The restaurant was busy, which given the Labour day long weekend was expected. However, what wasn't good enough was the progression of the entry line which took 35 minutes to get into the restaurant but at no point were we spoken to or even given an estimate.

We were finally given a table for 2 at the back near the bathrooms, and then proceeded to be ignore for the following 35 minutes, no one checked on us or anything. Given we had said to the waiter when we were seated that we already knew what we were going to order. (Not hard when you're staring at the menu for 35 minutes before you're even seated).

What followed from there could only be considered a nightmare, we placed our orders and the food arrived within 15 minutes, the rigatoni was dry... how can a boiled pasta be dry unless it was heated under a grill. The cheese on top of the pasta looked and tastes like generic homeland tasty cheese and was absolutely disgusting.

The other food that was ordered was an Amatriciana pizza which tasted more like a ham cheese toasty than a pizza, and again had the same low budget tasty cheese on it, the only redeeming quality was the dough which was cooked well.

Finally we decided to get the food to take away as we wanted to go enjoy the sunset. After asking for the cheque and also for a takeaway container the waitress sighed and said "uhh for one piece of pizza?". I have never been more dissatisfied with customer service in a restaurant, the only reason I even took the pizza was because I didn't want to pay for something to be thrown in the bin.

Finally and perhaps the most absurd thing I've ever heard, we went and paid the bill only to find that each item was 10% more expensive because of a dine-in-charge, the prices on the takeaway menu said $20 for the pasta and $19 for the pizza. However the dine-in menu was $22 and $21? I'm sorry but why do I have to pay to dine in... is that a tip to waiting staff? That is absolutely absurd, the staff that served us deserved in all honesty to be fired.

DO NOT GO HERE. GO TO...

This is literally my first review on here but I felt compelled after my experience with my partner tonight. I was looking forward to this visit as I myself am the head chef of a busy Melbourne restaurant so I very much look forward to restaurant visits and had heard great things. However the experience left me feeling upset and unwelcome. I called up earlier in the day to ask if I needed to make a reservation and was told no, upon arrival we were told there was no tables and were told to wait outside, that’s fine, they obviously had considerably more walk ins than expected. The manager who seated us was the one staff member who made us feel like we were welcome there. We were sat with a lovely view which is why im giving two stars instead of one. The older waitress that served us was cold and made us feel judged and unwanted, it was almost like she took one look at us and decided we weren’t “good enough” for the place, she was very short when answering questions about the menu and physically rolled her eyes at me when I started asking questions about the wine list. We ordered a garlic focaccia without mozzarella due to my partners vegan diet, we were presented with a burnt bland focaccia with no garlic, sea salt or any flavour whatsoever. We then received our mains, the asparagus and saffron pasta and the crab special pasta, both were dumped on our table with no bedside manner and were incredibly bland. There was no black pepper on the table and we were not offered any, we finally managed to flag down the manager who had helped us earlier and he got some for us. I felt I’d been ripped off by a bland dish with very little crab. No body checked back on us during our meal and once we’d finished our plates were cleared without a word and our check was dumped on our table, making us once again feel rushed out the door and very unwelcome. I’ve really enjoyed my time on the island but this is definitely the low point of my week. I was really excited for the meal and left angry and...
