I booked an Igloo experience online for a romantic evening with my partner, and booked for the sharing menu. When we got there and were seated we were advised that the sharing menu was not available as that was last years menu and was not an option for this year, even though when booking it was an option. We showed the wait staff how we booked and that it was still an option and they agreed. A manager was contacted by staff. Then 15min later they came out again asking to be shown again how we booked and got that option, and if we minded that they videoed it. When we went through the online booking process with them again the previous option was no longer available. Even the wait staff found it unusual as they had already previously been shown by me the booking process I went through and agreed that the share menu option was available. We were disappionted but proceeded with thier al acarte menu, which is just the run of the mill resturant menu which was very ordinary and therefore i would not recommend the experince. Compared with last year they have really dropped the ball with making this an experience to remember. Its just an ordinary menu rather than any thing special or unique...
Read moreI recently visited the Boston Hotel Cafe and ordered the vegetarian bowl. The vegetables were fresh and delicious, and the black rice was cooked perfectly. However, the portion size was surprisingly small—I’m not sure if anyone in the kitchen is a vegetarian, but it’s hard to imagine that such a minimal amount of veggies could be a full meal for one person. I ended up going into town to buy a smoothie because I was stil hungry, and I'm not a big eater. It would be great if they could boost the bowl with halloumi or even add a fried egg on top to make it more substantial. I did ask for for a vegetarian boost when I ordered it, but was told lamb and chicken were my only option. Weird for a vegetarian meal.
The location, though, is stunning—right on the water with a beautiful view. The restaurant itself is very elegant, with tables and everything else spotless and tidy. I sat outside and it is a lovely space The staff were well-dressed and professional, though I felt they lacked a bit of personality. A touch more warmth and attentiveness in the service would have really enhanced the experience. Overall, a lovely spot with great flavors, but there’s room for improvement in portion size...
Read moreThe location is top notch however the service could be improved. I booked to be seated inside well in advance but we were not very lucky with our table. My husband asked the waitress about our reservation and she told him our table number. Hubby asked her where that table was located and she said she didn’t know as she wasn’t the person who set the table up. (“ I will find out that for you” would be a better answer”) We started looking for the table which we didn’t find so we asked again another waitress who advised us that someone took our table. (Didn’t see the point of reserving it). She point us another table for 9 when we were only 3. The table was very filthy and was half cleaned once we asked another waitress. We ordered a seafood platter, most things were good excepted the tuna. Not sure if it meant to be that way but it was cold & raw on the inside. We believe the tuna could taste and be cooked better if it was cut in smaller pieces instead of a big chunk.
The other seafood items saved the afternoon with a...
