I visited this restaurant in Port Lincoln after it popped up while I was searching for a Thai restaurant. The description mentioned Thai and Chinese cuisine, so we expected authentic Thai food. However, the experience was very disappointing.
The menu had a separate section for Thai dishes, so we ordered the Spicy Chicken Thai Fried Rice and Chicken Stir Fry — but both dishes were clearly Chinese-style, not Thai. The flavours, ingredients, and preparation had nothing to do with Thai cuisine. It feels like a misleading advertisement to attract people looking for Thai food.
The fried rice tasted awful — I could barely eat a few bites and left most of it behind. When we went to pay, the lady at the counter didn’t even ask if the food was okay. The fried rice also had visible prawn pieces even though we ordered chicken, which was unexpected and disappointing.
The restaurant might be fine for Chinese food, but it’s definitely not a Thai place. Overall, a waste of money and a very deceiving description. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for authentic...
Read moreFor a Thai restaurant this place was great. Clean, friendly staff, albeit we did get a plate of prawn crackers we did not order, it was taken back when they realised their error, no big deal. Food was fantastic, and more than enough to fill us up at dinner. Could not fit in dessert. The place was not large but plenty of space for the tables they had. Easy to talk, which is often an issue in noisy places which this was not. Food served reasonably quickly and good timing between courses. Nice outlook over the bay albeit it was dusk when we arrived so the view vanished. The only slight negative was the lack of white wine variety. Chardy was out of stock and no Sav Blanc so dry white wine was not available. Prices were very reasonable. Overall a nice evening meal and recommended. Parking on the street was readily available but it could get busy during...
Read moreVery disappointed. Ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken which was supposed to be crispy battered chicken with sweet and sour sauce. What I received was fried battered chicken in a takeaway container which was bathed in the sweet and sour sauce! Which of course meant that all the chicken was soggy and nasty. This is a basic tenet of any fried dish, you don't serve it in sauce, you serve the sauce on the side. Major fail, ruined the meal. Flavour seemed alright but the texture was unforgiveable. If they can't get the most basic concepts right then what's...
