Port Lincoln Visitor Information Centre — Attraction in Port Lincoln

Port Lincoln visitors be Careful!!!! Alert for visitors!! This is what we experienced in Port Lincoln and this review is not for visitor info centre!! On 14/08/2022 Sunday we went for a shopping at Coles in between 2pm-3pm. We had one ‘white’ lady in her middle aged approached us while we were doing the shopping at port lincoln Coles. At the begging we thought she needed some help that’s why she came and talk to us but the way she started to talk we couldn’t believe what we just heard and witnessed. Straight away once she approached us she said you guys should go back to your country and talk in your language, you guys doesn’t deserve to be here and we speak English here Australia. We couldn’t believe what we heard we had a really go with her ( and we defend ourselves very well, more than 8 years in Australia never experienced anything like this and never thought we ever had go through something like this.) When we said we’re Australian citizen, She replied “At least I’m white”. That was the last day of our holiday at Port lincoln, we had a really good experience visiting places and out of the sudden it just ruined our holiday vibes. After that, I went and talked to one of the coles staff about it ,, She then call her Manger “name: Steve” , I talked to him about what happened and he said where is she ?? When we took him to point out that lady , he said she’s just a customer and he can’t do anything about it. We need to call police if we have a problem with it.He was smiling like it was funny for him. His behaviour was very unprofessional as well. “ We thought if It was us bothering that lady he would have definitely come to us and would have talked to us but he saw that lady was a white lady customer. That’s why he smiled at us thinking that lady’s inappropriate behaviour is some kind of joke for him. But there was young girl who witnessed everything she then approached us after and said she is very sorry about what we had to go through and we’re not like this.That was nice of her. The lady who assisted us didn’t tell anything at all all she said go to the green map which is where all the shark cage etc. she’s a terrible guide! For me if your not happy with your job I suggest you leave! Your in customer service you should be bubbly or approachable. I don’t know if she’s racist or what. We avail some cruise and tours and she didn’t explain anything!

That’s my own opinion tourist give you a job so if your not happy to serve...

Lots of local souvenirs available as well as Australiana things too. Tours can be booked and arranged there. Staff are very helpful but can be a little bit over helpful at times. Browsing sometimes was a bit of a challenge as constant interruptions by staff offering assistance was a bit over the top, especially as there were only two staff working. All in all a good place.
