Top local tavern. Very clean large well cooked meals at good prices. No problem with Trooper my service dog coming in. Always easy going bar staff. Starting to try get back out more as once week I used to enjoy one or two beers with my service Dog Trooper.

Updated 16/5/23. Still rate the tavern as one of the best places for meals, all well sized and cooked as requested. My Brother in arms came up to visit with his wife. We decided Dinner some drinks at Tavern. Trooper has always been welcomed as he is with me 24/7. We decided have meal inside. Once again not let down on my fanatic Streak with pepper sauce you order med rare and actually get what ordered. It was a great night, the others eating where so nice to trooper who laid next to me had his fresh water, with small dish of dry food I bring. As he likes to feel involved. Added photo was his spot till we went out side awhile. People commented on how all these smells of meat and food. Yet he does as you ask. Yep same as shopping he knows not to sniff shelf’s as that’s not his job. Yet he loves people and kids and when asked I have no problem letting people give him a Pat and always makes me feel good. When the young ones ask so nicely as I know he just loves them, they very softly test him with little Pat notice he has no interest in there ice block or such. 2 min later they are giving him big cuddles amazed that he doesn’t take there snack. Always to parent, yes can we get a dog know especially if been scared before. I just explain to them, if your lucky enough to get a puppy. They need lots of attention like little kids. You spend lots of time helping to feed and be best friends. You’ll be able to teach them so many things as they just want to be loved. It takes time to get them like trooper. But not hard, talk to mum and dad but don’t just leave them as they just want to be your best friend. I love our tavern and will be going more often with no car at moment. We will fit it back into our walk. Have time out stop for a nice beer or two head back to Anne St. Very family friendly staff, to the cooks, great atmosphere. My partner and I went for dinner here. I asked for medium rare and the steak was burnt on the outside and rare in the inside.. we were polite about it when we brought it back to them.. I can’t pay $30 a meal for soemthing I didn’t ask for.. not long after we gave the dishes back I went in to buy a drink and I heard this older lady who worked there speaking under her breath about how I didn’t take a bite from my steak so I couldn’t of known how it was cooked.. i heard her literally speaking about me to other staff.. it made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome.. I brought it up to the lady who worked there and she continue to disagree with my complaint about the food.. I have never experienced this sort of rudeness from a worker before.. I couldn’t believe how rude she was speaking to me.. very disappointing.. first night out since floods with my partner just wanted a nice night and she honestly made me feel so unwelcomed I had to leave… you never disagree with a customer.. why would I even bother lying about such a thing.. I didn’t want to wait another half an hour for my meal to be to cooked… all the other staff were very polite nice to me but this older lady was awful.....

Very disappointing meal prepared by young sweaty looking cooks, wiping their sweat with their hands and then touching food. Burgers were dry and tasteless, we asked for tomato sauce and the young guy forgot to bring it out, the chips were dry and tasteless, with no sauce, very poor bland food, better off cooking your own food, don,t bother wasting 40 on food here, very noisy drinkers in background, unfriendly atmosphere, host girl gave me funny defensive look when I asked her if burgers were well cooked, as if asking was a crime, we would never go back, save urself a disappointing feed, and experience, go to food mart instead and buy yr own food. Waste of time and money, will never go back, no love at all in the food or customer service, good for bogans that have no taste for good food, well...
