Zambrero Queanbeyan — Restaurant in Queanbeyan East

Guy that served me would be a better fit at GyG, he was mumbling his questions and not even waiting for the answer. The store is situated on a busy, drab corner and the exterior is very lackluster but the interior is as clean and pleasant as any Zambrerros. The food was ok, the disinterested, mechanical service didn't inspire me to trust the back room food handling. I'm guessing they are running low on gloves as he only put one on and held the other hand behind his back. When an chime started behind him he stopped it with his gloved hand then returned to continue making my food. If he was mumbling and as disinterested in service as he seemed but worked at GyG I wouldn't have thought anything off it but I’ve come to expect more personal service from Zambrerros in Brisbane and the one I went to in Goulburn.

For some reason they put on crushed corn chips after the beans and rice down here rather than just before the sauce as they do in Brisbane. It all goes down the same way but everything else seems the same so it stood out... I'm sure I'll be pondering the reasons for this for days if not weeks.

Went back yesterday and had great service which is more what I'd expect from Zambrerro.

(I don't want to contact Zambrerro directly and don't want to give specific information about which staff member it was. I think you should know when people are that bad. I'm not getting paid to help...

Had the worst experience there today that makes me feel sick. The young guy working today (15 minutes ago) was making my burrito. No good customer service whatsoever to start with. He gets the size wrong of the burrito so I corrected him, he then scooped the beans off with his hand and slapped it onto the other burrito. Guacamole I had asked him to avoid the onion as much as possible, I got him grumpily saying ok yes I’ll try whilst huffing and snorting the snot back up his nose. He offered to get the ‘fresh’ guac from the back that is needing to finish being mashed as it’s easier. He comes back not once but twice with chunk of avo in his hand squished it in his hand and smooshed it onto the burrito. I didn’t have the guts to say anything so I ended up just leaving. So...

Ordered a vegetarian burrito bowl + probiotic drink through one of the delivery apps. Issues with a simple order-

1- they send me a note that the probiotic drink was not available so replaced with a cheaper juice and they tried contacting me. I my phone was with me and I don’t have a call or message from anyone in that duration. If they didn’t want to bother asking, they could have replaced with another probiotic brand which is also on the menu? Maybe mark the one that is not available as ‘out of stock’?

2- there was minimal beans for a vegetarian protein option of a borrito bowl
