This review just fresh coming from my brain. Yesterday on 31/12/23 6pm, I went there with my friends just wanted to buy fish and chip before we headed back to Melbourne.

There is events there for NYE and some short cut to the jetty area was blocked due to events it self, so only one way in and out if you want to go to the jetty area.

The store had 2 entry side, I went to small door (can be access from the parking area) and the guy told me if this side for take away only for dine-in we have to use the other door for dine-in which is I have to access from jetty area (Fyi:this is small store and they separate the dine-in and take away area with dine-in table).

So we went through from the other door but we have to pass the security events check points to access the jetty area, the lady at security check point told me if you want to pass this jetty area we have to pay the NYE pass and I told her if we just want to order our dine-in dinner and going back as we finish our dinner. The lady was ok with that and told me if I don't have to pay but we should have stay at indoor area not the outdoor for dinner. So we went in at "Queenscliff harbour fish & chip" for order.

The asian guy was ok, he serve us and when we finish order and find out where we should seat and suddenly the super star/rude white lady( maybe she is one of the LUCIFER niece who was forgotten) yelling/cursing at me if I'm not allow to seat inside due to I'm not paying the admission fee for NYE. I try to explain what's happening but she didn't give me a chance to explain. Suddenly I screaming at her and cashier to give me refund. The asian guy who was standing at cashier tried to make me calm and allow me to dine-in. But the rude lady, she is hiding like coward.

The messages for the rude lady...I don't know who you are/ I don't care who you are, I don't care how strong or how rich you are. In this society you have to behave if you want still a live peacefully. learn to respect each other specially with your customers, if you can't respect each other, just go to the middle of the ocean and you can live alone over there because this world doesn't need a person like you.

ABOUT THE FOOD...NOTHING SPECIAL !!!! ABOUT THE SERVICE....THEY HAVE SPECIAL RUDE LADY!!!

Usually peoples when getting older, they will become more wisely but not for this rude lady. I DON'T KNOW WHO RISE HER UNTIL...

I totally agree with Marina who mentioned the behaviour of the owner this afternoon when there was an innocent mouse in the fish and chip shop and the over dramatic behaviour shown by him. Instead of simply getting a dust pan and broom and calmly sweeping the animal up and relocating it towards the outside bushes he was so erratic with his behaviour on removing it by continually kicking it through the doors of the shop right into the public that were bystanders outside as well as some who were just walking past, not to mention the patrons who were already seated outside eating. My wife and I were just about to order some food there and my young daughter saw this all unfold and she was so traumatised by the behaviour of the owner that we literally had to leave Queenscliff with her crying and screaming from what she just saw so we went to Barwon Heads instead for a meal but it just wasn’t the same vibe. I seriously could not believe his behaviour as it was so inappropriate especially on New Years Day which was quite busy with people and lots of young families around. Regardless of the fact it seemed like a mouse I believe there was no need for such brutal behaviour towards an innocent little animal. The owner was even kicking it along the ground into other people standing around and walking past and it even frightened an elderly woman too that was just trying to walk past and I saw him kick it into her. I could also see The look on everyone’s faces outside watching this unfold and the atmosphere just changed dramatically. If it wasn’t for my daughters reaction and having to leave so quickly I would have given him some advice but I can’t believe some people just can’t stop and think for a moment before taking things to another level, especially as a business owner right in front of your own business.

Thank you for ruining the first day of 2025 for my family and I, plus we will most definitely not ever be dining at your shop ever again especially after we had come there for many years before and...

Went to have lunch with the wife and kids on 19th Jan, chips potato cakes just a small lunch for us I also ordered a South Melbourne market Dim Sim once we received our food we all were happy untill I took 1 bite of the dim sim and the smell was not right it made my wife and myself gag. I took it back in the young girls on the counter apologised and offered to replace it.

The owner then stormed past them grabbing the discarded dim sim out of the bin smelling it himself and then proceeded to tell me I don't know what I'm on about and shoving it across the counter under my nose, and telling me no he will not be giving me a free dim sim....there was nothing wrong with his product and he sold heaps and the customer is not always right.

I was disappointed and shocked at his manner toward me and just said I will have my money back to which he begrudgingly gave me my $3.00 back I returned to the family and finished our chips the young staff come out to our table and apologised for the older gentlemen's behaviour rating his voice making me smell product again after had also been in the rubbish bin. And then continuing to stare and myself and family out the window whilst we finished our lunch.

the place gets stars purely for the 3 young girls working that day they were polite and accommodating, if it wasn't for them wouldn't get that as for the manager or owner who ever he was I strongly suggest treating customers that was over a $3.00 dim sim won't win you business especially from a local , who no doubt help over the rest of the year when the tourists...

Visited with a friend and we were really looking forward to some classic fish and chips. The food itself was just okay—nothing too special. Unfortunately, the experience was soured by the service. The older lady at the front counter was noticeably rude. When my friend placed the order, she spoke in a completely different tone—disinterested and cold. We tried to brush it off, thinking she might be having a rough day, but it became clear that wasn’t the case when she treated the next customer (right after us) with warmth, friendliness, and a completely different attitude. It left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome, especially because it seemed like the attitude shift was based on where someone might be from. Really disappointing to see that kind of behavior in a place that serves the public. Hopefully they reflect on how this impacts customers' experiences.

After a long drive my family thought it'd be a good idea to have some nice fish and chips at the fish & chippery on the harbour, nothing like some fresh seafood. However the experience was unsatisfactory, 65$ for 4 pieces of fish, calamari rings, prawns and scallops and a large fries. A tad overpriced but understandable. Unfortunately the batter was thicker than were used to, more like a corn dog batter consistency, the prawns were watery and tasteless. The fish was decent but the thick batter ruined it, the fries were overcooked, past golden brown and almost stale, all in all we had a bad experience and don't intend on coming back.

Fantastic location and good vibes by the marina. Yes agree that the service could be friendlier and there are better f&c food out there but overall it's good enough if you want to enjoy it by the water. The day we went the wait time was also quite short so that's always a plus. We had the open souvalaki and kids had the nuggets & chips. Everyone was happily fed. Prices a little high but I guess it's to be expected for the location and venue of that size.
