Service & atmosphere was absolutely wonderful, there was a great breeze and calm music playing and friendly staff with big smiles. The entire establishment was clean & tidy, with lovely little homegrown plants on the tables. This was definitely the place we wanted to try.
Now for the food. It's very reasonably priced, not so cheap that you worry about food poisoning, but not so pricey that your wallet would cry.
Hubby ordered the peri peri ribs with the Barraca sides, and I ordered my old faithful of salt & pepper squid with slaw + chips. It came hot, fresh and fast.
To put it plainly, these were some of the most fantastic meals our tastebuds have had the joy of encountering. For simple meals, the flavours were complex in a pleasing way.
They have converted a slaw hater into a slaw lover with a fresh crunchy salad with a simple addition that for once, delighted my palette - we have yet to settle on it being radish or red onion 😂
5 stars is not enough for this little seaside dreamboat. We will be back, it's...
Read moreThis little food van creates spectacular flavors that some restaurants can’t even create. We ate here one year ago, when we last visited the area, then came back two nights in a row this year. Over the two nights we tried 6 options off the menu, including the donuts for dessert. We can safely say that everything was seasoned beautifully, the meat was tender and juicy, and of course, the service was amazing. Wagyu skewers were seasoned beautifully and cooked to perfection. The sides were full of flavor and suited the meats without over shadowing the meats. Picado creamy sauce pairs perfectly with the meats that were served. The Chantilly cream was delicate and full of sweet flavor paired with the hot and sweet donuts. This family goes above and beyond to create a tasty and unique takeaway food experience in a lovely location. We will be back when we visit again! Thank you...
Read moreMaybe it was just this specific meal, or maybe its because I've been spoiled by Portugese family members making Portugese food, but this place didn't make my 5 star mark. Alot of the other reviews were raving about this place, so we definitely had to visit, but I can't recommend it compared to the other places in Agnes. Food was good, but not great. Prawns had a bit of seasoning but tasted mostly plain, and the coleslaw was mediocre. Best part of the dish was the rice which did have flavour. Nice spot, and definitely not bad by any means, but with the exceptional quality of food elsewhere at Agnes there are other options.
Portion sizes are also large. The picture is of one plate of food that we shared between...
