Hard to rate. As my beef with onion jam burger was great. However the ‘gluten free’ chicken burger for my wife. Was in fact a gluten free bun only, with a crumbed non gluten free chicken patty. Fortunately she asked to check. And it was suggested that some people actually just wanted the gluten free bun! It was replaced with chicken pieces. And fortunately she is not coeliac but does cause an allergic reaction. All fine. At least we could get a meal at 1.30. The other places in town had closed to new customers as they were full.

At first you don't realise that the outdoor seating by the water is also part of the Marina Cafe but once you do it's a beautiful spot to enjoy a quick meal or coffee by the water. The shop feels like your local takeway or deli and once you place your order in the shop, they give you a buzzer that lets you know once your order is ready. Coffee was excellent and the food we ordered simple but delicious. Prices were fair and good sized portions. My boy also enjoyed feeding the fish, which you can buy some fish food for $2.

We tried this finally to experience the famous vanilla slice. After missing out the previous day, we pre paid for this today. It was OK, and I have had better, but it was still quite lovely. Is it worth the hassle, probably not. The staff can come across a bit rude because they are stretched at times. I didn't feel all that welcome, to be honest. The prices were a bit expensive. There is no way in hell I am paying $10 for an iced coffee....most people there seemed happy with the food, though.

You must align your expectations with the area when visiting this cafe. It's very small, and the staff try hard. But it's simply average at best. We visited here for breakfast, and it was busy, the staff were stressed! Lines and mixed up table numbers, were testing them, but instead of trying to find who's coffee it was they just took it back inside and waited for someone to complain!

Tables were STICKY, not nice at all. Varnish on wooden furniture is the issue, but its not nice and shouldn't be left that way. When pieces of other people's napkins are stuck to the table it's not ok. The food... well the scrambled eggs were actually really nice. The bacon, inedible, the waitress told me the chef likes to cook the bacon "that way" which I replied "I'm glad HE likes it that way, us not so much" It would have been easier for me to cut up my leather handbag with a plastic knife to eat with my eggs.

When we left I asked my partner if we could undo that breakfast somehow and go somewhere else. I do not recommend.

This Cafe I think is good for a coffee and snack visit, but anything more I'd suggest you travel the couple mins back to...

Was looking forward to dining here as most reviews were exceptional.

However after ordering and paying quite a bit for food and milkshakes, been told there was a half an hour wait on food, our two milkshakes didn't come out until 25 minutes later and the food 45 minutes, I went up and asked at 40 minutes where the food was, apologising explaining I understand there was a 30 minute wait however people who ordered before us including a family have received their food.

The lady told me that it takes 20 minutes to cook an omelette, and it'll be out in 5, my partner who ordered eggs benny, then recieved his meal, but was told a further 10 minutes for mine, wish I had been told earlier and I would have changed my order.

Lady was rude and abrupt, no apology or care, after asking if they did take away she said yes but you will have to come and grab the take away box yourself.

I work in this industry I understand the stress, however never have I ever seen service like this.

Food was nice, however partner received burnt toast. Hopefully this was a once off, considering they deal...

Arrived for brunch today and had read the wonderful reviews, high expectations. Did not deliver. Ordered a standard menu item and requested two additional poached eggs and a hash brown. Had the order repeated back and it was repeated correctly. Paid and took a table outside and waited. When the food arrived my dish was absent the poached eggs. Questioned the wait staff and was told they would need to check the docket….. The cashier returned and stated that she had made a mistake and despite repeating the order to me an admin error was made with the ordering system. These things happen and so I went to the cash register and paid for the two eggs……..The waited more than 15 mins for two poached eggs and the cashier was delivering food to another table and I asked about the eggs. Oops! Never got the order to the kitchen, again. Given that we had finished the remainder of the brekkie we just got up and left. Cashier ran out to return the $6.00 for the two eggs. Nice that the money was returned but, sadly, won’t be a...
