DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! The old man behind the bar was extremely grumpy and rude. We asked a question about the menu and received a really blunt reply then we were told that we had to order inside. Thankfully the lady inside was warm and friendly and greeted us with a smile. We mentioned how the man was quite grumpy and she laughed, like she had often heard this comment. My advice is don't work in hospitality if you can't smile at your customers. Not sure why that man was even working their, assuming he's the owner, but seriously do yourself a favour and hire some staff instead of being grumpy and rude to your customers. We ordered the fish and chips and unfortunately they were really really bad. The batter was so thick that there was hardly any fish inside. They also only provided one little packet of tartar sauce and made us pay extra for more packets. It's pretty disappointing that places like these located by the ocean who commonly sell fish and chips don't make their own sauce or at least provide a bigger tub of it instead of charging 50 cents for small sachets that are enough for one bite. The price point for what we ordered was also alot in comparison to other places with similar location. Definitely won't ever go back there again.

Stopped by the 1770 pub for lunch — it’s in a beautiful spot right across from the stunning blue waters of 1770, which definitely caught our attention. Parking out front is limited, but we managed to find a spot. We were keen to support a local place, even though we noticed the prices were on the higher side. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to expectations. I ordered the steak sandwich (almost $27) thinking it would be a solid meal since I was starving — but it looked like I only got half a sandwich. Left still hungry and pretty disappointed. Someone else in our group got the nachos — the portion was generous, but the chips were overcooked and had a burnt taste. Definitely not what you'd hope for. We also ordered the surf & turf, which came to $64 in total. The sauce for the “surf” part was super runny, and the steak was tough and chewy — not worth the price at all. Sadly, based on this experience, I wouldn’t go back to eat here. The view is lovely, but the food just didn’t deliver.

Mixed reviews here, one day we had takeaway fish and chips, took a while considering there was hardly anyone there food was nice. Next day had a drink and hot chips, they were terrible also took half an hour there were 4 people there so not run off her feet, the chips were cooked so long there was no potato in the middle. Then the next day we waited 30mins for coffee, mentioned to the manager so he went and made them himself and let's just say they weren't good. I think they appeared understaffed but not knocking anyone back to dine in. Overall not impressed with the vibe or the staff either, we seen the young guy working behind the bar rock up in the same clothes everyday and his white shorts were so filthy not sure why you wouldn't send him home to get changed, not a good look.

I don’t even know where to start. If you’re thinking of eating here, just don’t. We ordered Reef Fish , Now you would think that reef fish would melt in your mouth. . Wrong wrong wrong It was tougher than eating the toughest piece of steak you could imagine. I have never eaten fish that you cannot cut with a knife. You should be able to pull it apart with your fork.. I have never taken food back before. But this was un eatable. We were met with a very rude man. I believe his name was.Adam . Very, very rude man. I asked for our money back he blatantly refused and said I will cook another piece for you. Normally, I would’ve just said yes, but this guy couldn’t be more ruder if he tried. Just a very very rude man. When fish has been cooked so wrongly you don’t want another piece cooked. I probably should mention that this fish came out in under five minutes after ordered. Not a good sign . When I said I don’t want another piece cooked, I would prefer my money back. He walked into the kitchen and threw it into a takeaway container. Sent the poor young waitress out to tell us he has said take it or leave it as she placed the overcooked fish on our table.. I went in and said you can’t be serious. His response was. I am not giving your money Back. The best I will do is cook you a new piece. We decided to let him cook a new piece. This time we had been sitting there for about 20 minutes, Remember the first piece took less than five minutes, Again, reassuring why it was so bad. But we could not get the taste of our horrible entree out of our mouth. We had ordered coconut prawns. We got three prawns on a plate with coconut sprinkled over the top. I still cannot get the taste of oil out of my mouth. We Decided to forfeit our money and leave So we lost our money and left hungry. We had been told by so many locals not to eat here but as it was a public holiday, not many places were open, So we thought we would give it a go . Please remember when locals tell you that something is so bad, Listen to them they know what they’re...

DISGUSTING!! WORLD'S WORST PLACE TO EAT! PLEASE DON'T EAT HERE, THE OWNER WILL CALL THE POLICE ON YOU !! Despite the bad reviews the only reason why we decided to dine in was because of our 4 children they were hungry we really didn't think it could be this bad

After 1.5 hrs of wait finally only 2 wraps came the wraps were Very little but well overpriced!!

Then, the chicken nuggets and chips came out which we didn't end up giving to our daughter. (The nuggets were black) The chips was half burnt 10-20min later the rest of the meals still didn't come out, so we asked for the owner to come see us to cancel the rest of the order. We're told by the waiter he was in the kitchen he wouldn't come out.. We had to go inside the kitchen to tell him that we wanted a refund he was rude to the bone he had no time to acknowledge the isse, offer a bowl of chips or an apology!! The waiter brought the rest of the food which we didn't want.

And the owner walks away, unbelievably rude.. again we walk behind him asking for a refund but he offers us 5min to leave or he would call the police 🚔 🤣

The police came and the meals came out in take -away containers 🤣 (delivered to us by the cops ) we didnt end up getting our refund neither did we take his dog food, we spoke to the police outside by looks of it they wouldn't eat here either.

Do urselves a favour dont waiste ur money here he will ruin your day or night if you're desperate for food just go to coles and get something there. The nuggets at McDonald are better.

His staff was were stressed from the minute we entered, but the Asian "lady" behind the bar was SO rude, rude just like the...

Not one to normally leave bad reviews, but given this is a tourist destination, I am hoping to save someone the disappointment we had. 6 people in our group for breakfast: coffee was terrible, vegetarian found bacon in her undercooked mushrooms, mine and husbands sausages were raw, actually all the food was undercooked. Turmeric latte came out as a latte (coffee) with a dash of turmeric (which was for a child), when I went to query, “oh that’s what a turmeric latte is” seriously?! After finding bacon in her breaky, our food being undercooked etc the waitress came out and we let her know politely about everything and that we would not be eating the vast majority of our food. She was friendly and we could see she was taking everything onboard, not long after what looked like the manager or owner came in, I would have assumed he was told about the terrible food, but made no effort to touch base before we left. The prices too were ridiculously expensive for the food served. Other than the friendly waitress and the location nothing positive can be said. I know you maybe thinking 🤔 “maybe they were busy” Nope, only us and another 2 tables of two, one of which had already received their meals. This place is probably good for drinks in the afternoon watching the sunset, but don’t do breaky here! If you are in 1770 and want a delicious breaky and coffee with better prices than this place, go to the marina cafe, just down the road, we have not had a bad...
