Nice coffee and friendly staff however, watching the baker preparing the pies etc in full view of the public wearing just a sleeveless singlet in such a hot, sweaty environment and wondering where the sweat goes made us think twice about buying food. Also, the same bloke doesn't bother using tongs or gloves when he handles the food, just bare hands which makes me wonder during this time of supposed heightened awareness with Covid, where he learnt his hygeine? Bought a sausage roll and a curry beef & veg pastie. Sausage roll was an absolute classic. Good pastry, not too buttery/flakey. Filling was dense, not too moist and had an excellent amount of pepper. Pastie had slightly flakier pastry than the sausage roll. Filling had mashed potatoes, beef, carrots and peas and an excellent amount of what I am pretty sure was keen's curry powder. Called in here after playing golf today. Good size bakery! We were there around 1.30 pm, so we didn't have a lot of choice of the pies. They were nearly sold out. I had a sausage roll, which was very good! Hubby had a curry meat pie, he said it was one of the best curry pies he has had in a long time. Took home sweets for after tea. Cheesecake and Round Things. Both were very delicious. Great coffee! Service was great, very friend staff. Ate inside...
