Beautiful space however was not what it used to be! We went to Petals & Pinecones on the 10.01.24 and waited 40mins for a pre-made toastie to be heated up out of the fridge and 1hr 20mins for two creation shakes. Both looked nice however milkshakes was hot, watery and tasteless. Very disappointing.

There was only one other table of 6 people there and they were still getting their drinks that they ordered before us after we got our drinks. There was 4 staff members (2 in kitchen and 2 in front of house) so they were definitely not understaffed.

My partner and I had both been to Petals & Pinecones about 6 years ago when they were in their old shop and under different management and it was amazing! It used to be a great environment with lovely staff, great customer service, and great coffee, drinks & food! Unfortunately it is not like that anymore!

I’m really not sure if we got them on a bad day, however the town of Atherton was really busy and other cafes in town were packed while Petals was quiet so I’m thinking since being under new management it operates this way all the time.

This place guys!!! Amazing 🤩 Good coffee- options for milks, options for kids, gf and yummy 🤤 snacks. The space is Devine. Shabby chic meets cafe French decor. We felt cosy. The music wasn’t classic so it’s a friendly vibe. The staff were almost too accommodating! Would be easy to stay hours! The kids have a small fenced area with activities from 6months+ to 10. They’ve a clean toilet/ nappy change and the whole place is wheel chair friendly too. Good prices were a little more than expected. I had an incredibly frustrating experience at Petals and Pinecones. I arrived at 11:30 AM and ordered a simple toasted sandwich because they were out of everything else. I didn’t get my food and drinks until 1:30 PM—two full hours later! The place was filthy, with sticky tables and floors that clearly hadn’t been cleaned in ages. It made the atmosphere feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming.

The cafe was clearly understaffed, but that doesn’t excuse the absurd delays. To make matters worse, the people sitting next to us only ordered coffee, and it took them an hour and a half to get it.
