A very decent experience for lovers of well crafted pies. I have now sampled most of Banjo's range - the standard meat pie leads the way, including the party pie version, a two bite beauty, closely followed by the beef & 🍄. The egg & bacon 🥓 pie really is a true delight, with great taste & texture. Scallop pie is great, but at just shy of ten bucks...understandably, for sure, I can't often go there. I have to make mention of my dislike....putting it mildly, to be honest....of the chicken curry pie, which I didn't eat beyond my first bite. The taste is...well, it's just about ok, I guess, but it just doesn't hit the mark overall, and texturally, it's simply all wrong, for me at least. I noted today a new addition of a Beef curry pie, but I simply wasn't game enough to give it a go, due to my dissatisfaction with the chicken curry variant. Edit: Happy to report the Beef Curry pie much better, although through my multiple pie samplings on many days, I invariably enjoy, as my firm favourites the superb Meat pie, including the party pie sizes of same, along with the Egg & Bacon pie - for me, very hard to go past these, and it's about time I revisit a Scallop Pie, too!! Overall, if you're in the region, it's definitely well worth visiting this pie haven....I have not sampled the coffee, but have repeatedly noted it being extremely busy & popular, and that being right next door to a larger coffee outlet....it has to be decent, surely, eh? Read moreWell, this was really disappointing.
1 star is definitely too many.
The first time going there and DEFINITELY will be the last.
Only went there as I had a good experience in Redcliffe store. DEFINITELY not the same.
Staff looked miserable and cranky. Spoke rudely.
It was about 3.30pm on a Sunday, it was dead quiet and it made me wonder why there were 3 staff on.
Definitely only busy for 1 person.
We were deciding what to order and when replied still deciding, a few times, i started getting eye rolls.
I would have left, but had hungry kids, so decided to stay.
Then they didn't have a pie which was advertised.
Then they don't do a combo, which is clearly advertised... because there is no button 🙄...
Curry pie tasted disgusting... little to no curry.
Meat pie was extremely salty.
Egg and lettuce sandwich had dried out bread. But was probably the pick out of everything... at least tasted like egg. 🤷♀️
Coffees were ridiculously hot and tasted so bad. A good coffee should not need sugar, and I put in 3... and was still blah...
Management, Get your 'buttons' sorted for what is on the board.
Or train staff to use their voice and explain what is not available, especially when people are talking about getting combos.
Zarrafas is the preferred option...
Read moreWhat an experience. Walked into the venue and ordered some food for the young boy, I on the other hand had KFC. I had a short conversation which what seemed to be the store manager and complimented on how a great idea it was and how beautiful everything was. I asked him if I could eat my food in the venue, he said it was okay. As we were eating the owner approached us and said I couldn't eat in his venue because I had KFC, which during this time had only two or three other customers in it. He then proceeded to ask me to eat outside like of I were some sort of animal. I was rude and yes I'm sorry, but for a business in a location who is dependent by locals seems foolish to drive them away. I didn't even have to eat anything and it left a bad taste....
