Beautiful food! The volume of food is crazy! I love the ribeye fillet with mashed potatoes and steam veggies, that was a huge meal. I also added the slow cooked pork belly. The meat just melted into your mouth. My friend ordered the crispy pork belly salad, the volume of food is a lot! Also the chicken parmi I went back there for dinner another night, love that so much too. It’s really good for a club meal.

The chicken schnitzel is bigger than my head lol We have ordered 1 kg of the chorizo chicken schnitzel to share between us. It was huge and we are really full. It only costs $31!!!! I wasn’t expect the chicken schnitzel is yummy like that! That is good to try!!!!! Really valuable. The staff members are also really friendly!

Went for the dirty bird but was very disappointed. Says 500 grams and got a tiny ham size Hawaiian parmi with very little nap sauce. Even the little girl next to me had a parmi and it was 3 times bigger than minem. For $30 I felt violated and no one could care less as they were having a "bad night'.

We haven’t out that way for a while. We have friends who live out that way and they said the meals had gone hill over the past few months aswell. Do we thought we would go out there and try for ourselves as in August the meals weren’t too bad but they weren’t the best we have had for a club meal. Well the bistro service was good but the coffee shop keno and bar were slow of not around. It wasn’t that busy and staff said they be with us in a minute. Meals came out in good time. The chicken snitz tasted like it was brought from the shops but crumbed and prepared in kitchen the prawn topper we feel gave our daughter good positioning as we had steak aswell and they were beautiful but we couldn’t comment on the prawn topper except that she was ill 1 1/2-2 hours later. The desserts weren’t nice. The tart shells were u def cooked and ore bought the Carmel wasn’t made in pressed it was tin caramel which we all know taste like crap. When ordering coffee 4 people went past us and said someone will be with us in minute and that was almost 10 minutes later we got served but another 20-30 minutes later coffee came out not hot luke warm. This was a terrible dining experience for us. We will stick to our clubs in town. Kangaroos and Edgehill bowls club can’t go wrong with their meals always fresh and made in house. We won’t be back again...

Not my favorite place to dine out. Meals are typical mediocre pub food but with a price of a restaurant dish and half of the time are not prepared well. Drinks are expencive even with a membership discount. Last time we came with an offer Meal for a family of 4.. We came on the wrong day and they refused to honor the voucher even it was expiring in a couple of days. We won't be back and judging by their attitude we won't be missed. Update 2021.. Food was shockingly bad. I ordered antipasto and salad with prawns. Have of the ingredients came out of jars from a supermarket and they were of a bad quality. Prawns were so overcooked/reheated! Ewww! I think anyone can do a better job in the kitchen than your cooks. Update 2024. Why did I come back? Gordonvale diner was shut. I should have gone home! I've ordered spaghetti marinara. The most disgusting dish I've ever seen and tried. As always sauce from the jar, cheap Dolmio that wasn't even reheated properly, cold mussels shells without mussels in them but some gross lining in abundance, overcooked calamari. When I told the female waiter about a poor state of the dish she shrugged her shoulders and walked away. The price for that "dinner" was the same as at any restaurant...

We came for dinner tonight on a whim as we hadn’t been for about 18 months after the last awful meal we had there…. Unfortunately, the food tonight was worse than ever before. I had “garlic” (loose term) prawns. Which were actually prawns with rice and cream. No garlic to be found. No flavour. Absolutely terrible. My 12 year old wouldn’t even eat them. And he eats everything….. My husband had the Tandoori chicken. Which it wasn’t. It was more a nursing home meal of pre chewed chicken in a jar of chicken tonight sauce. Seriously, how can you put this food out and say it’s of restaurant quality??? Husband did say the naan bread was good. Lucky for that, hey?! The bruschetta was not bruschetta. It was half a kilo of chopped cherry tomatoes put on top of soft garlic bread with 1 sprig of basil and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. No wonder we have been eating at South’s and the Grafton…. This was by far once of the worst meals we’ve had in Cairns in the last 20 years 😡 Son enjoyed his pot pie…. Lucky, as it was totally up his alley being potato, chicken and cheese…. Quite literally…. We are not “flush” with money and eating out is a treat. This was not…. Service was ok. Not...
