Let me start with the positives because it quickly goes downhill.

Atmosphere is great. Spacious with plenty of air flow and shade. Great view as well.

I was served by two (what I presume to be visa workers). It was all good and fine ordering and getting seated etc.

We ordered 2x chicken, chips, and salad. One of those with no dressing. This was clearly identified at the time of ordering and acknowledged by the staff member.

This menu item is marked as gluten free and dairy free.

What came out was two half chickens with two buckets of salad (no salad dressing on either). When questioned why no salad dressing, we were told they didn't know who wanted it so they did neither.

Ok, moving on. There was a lack of chips present and when asked are the chips still coming, we were told that the chips aren't actually gluten free so they were culled from the meal. So effectively instead of mentioning this at the time of serving or even during meal prep we were just handed the 28 dollar meals without chips.

Im not even gluten intolerant and wasnt even asked about the chips.

When going back to the counter to ask for a partial refund on atleast one of the meals we were countered with some smug attitudes by the staff. The meal item on the menu literally states gf and df. The staff member said that we should of looked in the entree section to see that the chips are not identified as gf.

They then argued that chips are never gluten free (lol) and asked us to provide another restaurant name that provides gf chips (We are tourists to cairns).

I cant speak for the experience on any other day but these two staff members need to be checked.

After all this, the chicken was sadly very dry and difficult to eat. Quite poor as far as basic roast chicken goes. Chips wernt bad but overcooked slightly also...

VERY RUDDDEEEEE! SAFE ARE DISRESPECTFUL! THE REDHEAD LADY THAT WORKS THERE, LOOKS LIKE SHE WAS INCHARGE. My partner took me here for my birthday dinner. All empty tables were dirty and not cleared, we ordered food and the lady said to pick a table and it would get cleaned shortly.... 45 mins later we are still at a dirty table and still waiting for our meal. we noticed a burger sitting on the bench where the kitchen was for over 20 mins, this was brought to our table along with other food that we had ordered. everything was cold and gross........We were not happy! We then called over the lady that looked like she was TRYING to run the place, we explained to her and instead of apologizing she was blaming us, saying we chose to sit a dirty table and yelled at us. She then refunded us and ripped us off. We have been staying at Crystalbrook Hotels for a few years now because we like the service ..........Until this experience! i will never go back to this place and will not recommend it to anyone, this level of service was such turn off. YUK! I wish i got the redheads name. CRYSRABROOK REVIEW YOUR STAFF...

Had lunch with my 1 year old babies and friend. I ordered chicken nachos which was awful to say the least. Corn chips were stale, chicken was so dry and loaded with halopenos even though I asked for none. Seemed like a lot for the male staff to find 2 high chairs for my kids. The young female waitress was more than accommodating though. She finished doing ‘their’ job for them, or so it would have seemed that way. Kids fish and chips was good although was never given the free soft drink or ice cream that went with the meal. My friends chicken taco was tasty and they did also end up replacing my meal with this when I eventually complained. Ordered cocktails with lunch and they forgot about them until we said something about 30m later thinking they may just be busy. Also in a world where we have an increasing awareness about people with disabilities, the elderly or mothers with prams you think they would have had a a ramp and not a service looking elevator to get up to the top deck where everyone looks at you while using it. So much for equality...

This place is in a great position on the esplanade. We were having a roving night out - so entree at one place, main we had here then we went somewhere else for dessert. I ordered the Truffled mushroom pizza and my partner ordered something which they didn't have so he ended up with the daily special which was Two tacos and one margarita cocktail. He had the spiced cauliflower tacos. Hey I loved the pizza there was an ok amount of mushrooms on it - but could have had more in my opinion. If there was artichokes on there - I didn't find them. But it was ok and for the esplanade they aren't overly expensive. My partner thought the tacos were good but not fantastic. They have a decent wine list - so happy with that. I am a big fan of cash - so very disappointing to find it is cashless. I find this trend to be exceedingly annoying - cash is legal tender - especially as paying by card incurs fees - so think both should be catered for. So probably wouldn't go here again because of this. But if you don't care - then it is a great spot and very open and inviting.

Roma - your customer service is amazing! For only being open for THREE WEEKS, you'd think they'd been open for three years. Food was phenomenal! For the FIRST TIME IN MY LIIIIFFFFEEEE I sent compliments to the chef! Ordered the beef tacos and was in heaven! Had the chicken tacos, stayed in heaven! Then.... Ow god... Then! Had the BBQ chicken pizza and I ascended to a different plane of existence! Wow. Bbq chicken is my go to pizza, and this was the.best I've ever had. Everything had the right amount of ingredients and they all complemented each other perfectly. Me and my partner were up from Melbourne and this place is better than anything we've had there, and that's saying something! 1million and a half billion percent, check this place out, you won't be disappointed!
