Gelocchio — Local services in Cairns City

Came here for the good reviews but was disappointed. I got 3 flavours: hazelnut (or something similar as I can't recall the exact name. The best of the three flavours but I wasn't WOWed either), dairy free chocolate (alright but nothing crazy, I've tested some much better in terms of flavour), pistachio (not good, doesn't taste nor look like pistachio - I even ask the person if that was the right one as it looked like vanilla). The person serving seemed disinterested to a point it felt almost like disrespectful. He might have had a bad day and wouldn't expect am over smiling and super cheerful person if that was the case but I can tell you I left thinking "what the hell was that!?" Given the good reviews I'm sure this could be a wrong time/wrong day kind of experience but that wasn't great for sure - and saw recent another review...

During our trip to Cairns, we strolled by this local ice cream shop and were delighted to find so many dairy-free ice cream options available. This means I can choose anything from the left side of the case! This is huge for those who are allergic to milk but love ice cream. There is a wide range of gelato and sorbet. You have the usual suspects, but so many more that make you want return again and again, just to try them all! I got a three scoop cone - just because I could. Soursop, Dragonfruit, and Lemon and basil. I have never heard of soursop so I had to try it. The best way I can describe it is to imagine if marshmallow was a fruit / it’s light with a slight tang. I cannot say enough good things about Gelocchio. The range of gelato and sorbet flavors is extensive and there truly is something for everyone. What impressed me the most, however, was the excellent value for money with generous serving sizes. It's no wonder that Gelocchio serves the best ice cream in Cairns - and I've tried them all! On top of the great ice cream, the service was fantastic. The man with the dry sense of humor really made my day. I make sure to visit Gelocchio every time I'm in Cairns and I'm already excited to go back for more. The Ferrero, hazelnut, and chocolate flavors are a must-try.
