Very poor customer service!! We’ve been travelling all over the world; been to 1-5stars hotels/restaurants but I never experience to be discriminated by the staffs. The staff asked me for the proof of vaccination. Both of us received our 3 doses of Pfizer jab; I showed them my certificate but my husband’s phone battery was depleted so instead, I showed them his picture showing he had his jab but they said no; I understand that they are just doing their job. They asked me to order take aways instead, and so I did. I want to enjoy our food and feel the ambiance of the place because it’s beachfront so we drove back to our hotel and get the car charger and plugged his phone. We went back and showed to the staff his proof of vaccination. I requested instead of take away, if we can dine in so we can enjoy our food. The staff said okey, I waited for few minutes but she didn’t direct us what table we will go, so again, I approached another staff and she let us choose what table we want. They didn’t gave us any plates so we went again in the counter to ask. They already gave us our order in take away containers but upon checking the porterhouse steak which is 37 dollars, doesn’t have any salad (which should be included) , very few french fries , and soaked with sauce so it’s not appetising and not crispy anymore (pictures are posted as described). No one served water in our table which should be automatically served when the clients arrived. So again we approached the staff and ask for it. Nobody even checked if the food tastes good because the pizza is quite salty, and when we left usually the staffs will thank the guests for coming but I didn’t heard anything. I would love to order drinks and desserts but no one even care to ask us and give us the menu though I mentioned it when I went to the counter and because of the poor customer service I just want to finish my food and leave. The staffs don’t have any initiative and not helpful at all. With all the positive reviews posted in their Facebook page we really expected that this place is something special that’s why we chose to have dinner there while we are travelling in Cardwell but I never knew it will be a disaster. Decided to have a nice cooked meal before driving home to Cairns. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a great experience.

We arrived at 4:30 pm because that’s what the online hours said, but after standing at the front desk for about ten minutes being ignored, while the waitress and manager walked past, we were told the restaurant actually opens at 5 pm. Fair enough — we came back at 5 pm, but again were left waiting and had to walk around the outside just to be noticed. We were then told dinner doesn’t start until 5:30 pm.

Once we finally ordered, I had the chicken breast with feta and spinach and vegetables, and my partner had the salmon. Both dishes were pretty underwhelming — the vegetables were hard and undercooked, and my chicken barely had any feta, just a few cubes that fell out and spinach just chucked inside.

When we paid, staff asked how everything was, and we were honest. They were polite and gave us a 10 % discount, which we appreciated. They mentioned there was a new chef who usually cooks Asian dishes, but that didn’t really explain the issues.

Overall, the food and service were disappointing, and the whole experience just felt disorganised.
