East End Hotel has a front bar called Cutters which is mainly full of locals and called Cutters with the entrance on Ann Street. There is also the Sugar Reef Bistro which has its entrance on Princess Street. It has very basic decor and is quite sterile. The food took almost an hour to come out and when chased, the excuse was that there was a new chef. We had the 300gram Rump Steak which was ok, same as their steak sandwich along with the garlic prawns, even though there were plenty of prawns, it was bland and very average. We won’t be rushing back anytime soon.

We had our Calligraphy X'mas and of year break up party. Food was exceptional, great sized serves. Friendly staff & great service. Great time had by all. Of our ladies that attended, all meal a were delicious and the Sticky Date Pudding was to die for. Apparently the Chef added Marachino cherries and sultanas to the mixture for Christmas.

Last night we decided to go out for dinner with some friends. We noticed this pub had good reviews so decided to give it a go.

Where do we start....

On arrival, absolutely no customer service, we waited around before asking if there would be any availability for dinner and then being sent to the front bar to sit with our friends and children. We get to the table in the bar and we notice the table is sticky and the environment is quite loud, not ideal for families with young toddlers.

We then go to order our food, we stood at the counter and the young employee who served us appeared as If she didn't want to be at work. We also were not advised about wait times. We ordered at a 6:55pm.

We went back to our table and our 2yo accidentally spilled a small amount of OJ on one corner of the table. We cleaned it up only to notice how filthy the table actually was. We ended up wiping the entire table with baby wipes which turned dark brown with minimal effort.

At around 7:35pm we received our bruschetta and garlic bread. Whilst the garlic bread was cooked correctly, the bruschetta was quite literally charred black. We returned it and a fresh bruschetta was made.

At around 7:45pm the kids nuggets finally arrived. This arrived hot.

7:53pm we finally received our dinner. The 2x pork belly parmy were moist as if cooked in a microwaved, the steak was overcooked and dry. The fettucini in Both carbonara dishes were undercooked and we found PLASTIC, from what looks like one of those plastic food containers, in one of them.

One of our friends went to return the dish with the plastic in it. She states she was treated she received by the front facing staff was quite rude, however did receive an appology from one of the chef's and was refunded the 1 meal.

The cherry on top was when we all awoke this morning feeling unwell.

We won't be returning, was a very...

After travelling for a few days, we really wanted a home style meal. We decided to try East End Hotel Bundaberg. I am so glad that we did! I am a stickler for reviews and almost did not come because of a few that I saw. All four of my children came as well as myself with different orders. We had two cheeseburger meals on the kids menu, which I could’ve easily had, and be full! The burgers were thick and juicy, and very soft for the kids! It filled them up nicely. Another son, had the bacon cheeseburger, and it was glorious! Three of us could split that! It was very juicy and filling and flavourful! another son got the fish kids meal, and it came out Perfect! I myself got the steak sandwich and it was just perfect! We were so happy that they were accommodating for a few of our needs, and every single thing tasted amazing! Thank you so much for having us and bending over backwards to accommodate some of our needs. We will definitely be back again and...

If you want to have a great culinary experience, the Sugar Reef Bar And Bistro is the place to go. The chef is absolutely amazing. If you want a steak, he will cook it exactly how you like it. It's no hit or miss here. It's always a hit. I usually get the prawn topper with my steak, and the prawns are always cooked to perfection as well. I have also tried the Chicken Kiev. It's out of this world. It's not your usual crumbed chicken with garlic butter, it doesn't have crumbs, but it is stuffed with an amazing array of flavours, cut into thick slices with cheese sauce over the top. I've never had anything like it, but I will certainly be back for more. They have an extensive menu, I'm sure that there is something for everyone. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos, but honestly, you don't need them. If you go and try a meal there you won't be disappointed. Hats off...
