Frank's Pizza Napoli & Vesuviana Restaurant — Restaurant in Queensland

Really disappointed tonight. We have been going to Frank's Napoli for years regularly for both dine in & take away. Food & service is always amazing, have never been able to fault. Tonight on our way to Frank's we withdrew $200. Meal & service was beautiful until the end when we billed out. Our total was $156.50 and I had in my mind there was only $150 in the wallet so I grabbed the 2 x $5 notes as well from my bag. She put the cash straight in the til without counting it. My husband was saying something to me and it was so quick. We got to the door and he asked why I gave her $210 when there was 2 x $5 notes & 4x$50 notes and I received no change. I quickly mentioned to them I gave them accidentally $210 and she said no love u didn't, it was 2x$5 and $150 and I said no we got $200 out and she just said no. Yet never counted my cash she just put it in the til. My bank app also states we drew out $200. We have never had a bad experience until now made to feel like I was lying or trying to rip them off. Such a big tip they have now received tonight an extra $53.50. So Franks if you add up the bill totals & your til tonight & your over by our amount of $53.50 then it is kindly ours. I suggest in future it would be good if you actually counted peoples cash in front of them not just pop it in the til & for everyone else I suggest you do the same. Food was terrible. I ordered a steak $42 which was a very thin cut piece of basic rump drowned in what was supposed to be a white wine and garlic oregano and tomato sauce. Instead the sauce appeared to be a simple crushed tim tomato’s with bottled crushed garlic added. The side serve of pasta was woeful. The pasta was packet drumwheat barely cooked with a basic mince tomato sauce, it had no flavour.. my mother had ordered her favourite Gnocchi which was 1/3rd of the usual serve she used to get. The bottle of San Pellegrino Mineral water was tepid at best and was already opened before getting to our table. I suspect that this was not the true product (although I was charged like it was) and in fact was actually home made soda stream. I asked for an itemised bill to ensure I was being charged correctly and was handed a simple old cash register receipt.. Dinner at Frank's recently. As always, the food was quick and generous. We had garlic bread, Frank's pizza, spaghetti carbonara, and spaghetti arrabiata.

It seems they have finally stopped using those gross ham strings on everything, which is a vast improvement. Previously we've tried most of the pastas (the lasagne is delicious), and the pork parmigiana is mind-blowingly large. I love that the mains come with side of spag bol, instead of the standard chips and token salad. I've only ever had one bad meal at Frank's, and that was the pork champignon. The pork was very tough, like it had been 'filleted' off a leg roast.

Frank Jnr has stepped into his father's huge (cranky) shoes well. All the ladies were super friendly and lovely, even when being berated.
