Waited an hour for toasted sandwich people came in after us got their meals sooner and there were others who waited that ended up leaving telling staff not to worry about their orders. Wait staff were fixing their dirty shoes and scratching their privates then handling people's food orders. Ended up getting our money back and having to leave. They hadtoo small equipment for the amount of customers ther were trying to serve. REPLYING TO MESSAGE: the young kids were doing their best being so inexperienced I do not hold them accountable they were trying so much considering they looked a bit scared and left alone with no manager support and obviously not trained properly especially in basic cross contamination and food handling. If I had the chance to speak with a manager I would have but given there was not enough staff to deal with what was on their plates as it was and I had already waited an hour . The young girls were absolutely lovely and understanding when i asked for money back. its the manager or lack there of and lack of proper equipment that was to fault . Really disappointed with JK's Deli. They close at 1 pm and we got there at 12.10 noon as roadworks delayed us. When we got there we were told the menu items were no longer available after 12 and could only order from the display cabinets. There were bog standard quiche, pies, etc plus a couple of bacon & egg sandwiches. Most of the food displayed was non veg & the veg options were limited & boring. So asked for an Italian style veg sandwich and was told they can only do a salad sandwich. I said I didn't come to an Italian cafe to eat a salad sandwich. Don't think they were too impressed with that. Am sure they could have quickly put together an Italian veg sandwich. Also, they never mentioned on their website or Facebook their militant adherence to removing their menu by 12 noon on the dot. My husband had the bacon and egg sandwich & coffee. He said the sandwich was good but coffee was awful. So I just sat with him while he ate. While waiting along with few other patrons a staff member started sweeping the floors. Most unhygienic.
