This is a great example of a traditional Aussie bakery! It’s a small family-fun operation with a standard offering of bread, sweets, coffee and drinks. I was very impressed with the large selection of meat pies! I grabbed a brekkie pie early on a Saturday morning and washed it down with a long black. The place was a hive of activity in the morning with people buying their daily loaf of bread and grabbing a newspaper. Very friendly and warm hospitality from the staff too. If you’re visiting Malanda and haven’t had an Aussie meat pie then this would be a place to experience what many Aussies remember from their childhood as the local bakery.

The locals told me about the pies in this bakery, that must try their pie here. So I went and decided to check out their pie. But too bad that I can't eat any beef and 90% of their pies are made in beef. So I can only get a chicken pie and vegetarian pie. But the taste is just okay with me. The price is around 6.50 for a pie. You can get other stuff such as cake or croissant there if you are not a fan of pie. If you are into beef pie maybe you should check it out as I can't comment much about it

Hands down the best sausage rolls and pies I’ve ever had. I was here for a short trip, but I couldn’t go a day without them! Their coffee and treats have been consistently great. If you have a sweet tooth, definitely try the bee sting! The shop has a homey vibe, and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Service was quick, too. A definite go-to when you’re in the Tablelands! 💯

Delicious pie Fair price. Nice spot in town and excellent selection.

The apple donut was cold, dense and dry. Not a fan. But the pie was great.

Unfortunately, the staff were abit gruff. And seemingly indifferent.

I come from a small town, smaller than most. Much smaller than Malanda, that's for sure. And my town runs on tourism.

Sadly, this place (the two younger staff at the front anyway) seem to have that attitude that if you aren't from their town you don't get good service. They were kind and welcoming to locals behind us, but not to us.

so mixed review, I'd go back for the pie. But not for the customer service.

The lady with purple hair though, she looked like pure joy. Smiling. Happy. Excellent customer service. I wish she...

First of all the street view is absolutely nowhere near the actual bakery. Secondly, the Malanda bakery makes really good quality bread and pies. And I mean REALLY good quality. This bakery sure as hell doesn't do things by half. Absolutely top quality. That's a good way to describe it. Come to think of it, their coffee is pretty good too. I really can't find anything to whinge about. But I'm not the sort of bloke that whinges anyway. I'll leave that up to the self proclaimed, well to do, snobby types. This bakery proudly presents itself as a simple, easy going but hard working small business. Which is a credit to them. Well done Malanda bakery. Well...
