I was going to come on here and write a 5 star review, however, that changed as we were about to leave, when the older lady (owner?) had a go at my 2 year old son for trying to open the door for me with my pram. He had pulled down the locking mechanism instead of the handle and she called out saying "It is not a toy!" and something about not wanting it broken. Not a very good lock if a 2 year old could break it, is it? She also rang the bell for my food order, even though the nice, young server lady was standing right in front of her. I was also standing right there, she could have handed it to me herself. I thought this was extremely rude. Very poor customer service skills in my opinion. The only reason I'm leaving a half decent review is because of the younger server, who makes excellent coffee, engaged kindly with my son, and DOES have exceptional people skills. She's the reason we had come back two days in a row for coffee. Customer service, and general kindness is everything. Especially when there are several other Cafes in town to...
Read moreHad such a fantastic time at the Malanda Collective today. Our family did a random stop here for some coffee, tea and food. We were totally satisfied with everything - best coffee we have had in a while (nice roasty taste and not too acidic but smooth and delightful) while mum gave her nod of satisfaction to their serve of their Fruit Tea in a pot (and she isnt easily satisfied)! We also tried the hot choc, the savoury muffin as well as their lemon cheesecake (both made in-house at the cafe) and all were so yummy. I dont like anything too sweet so the lemon cheesecake was exactly that but still had the yum and punch in it while the muffin was soft, moist and full of everything good (olives, spinach.. so unique). Enjoyed our time here not only on the F&B side but the shopping as well (for candles, bath products, etc). Plus, Lucia and her team of staff were so warm, friendly and hospitable. We will definitely stop by again when we are in Malanda! I am already missing the atmosphere we...
