Our experience at this restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. Exceptional food and exceptional service from what we soon found out, is an Exceptional man.
Chef Serge DeLagnes greeted our party of 15 with the news that his staff unfortunately had all called in sick and he was it. Obviously we were very sceptical, we had planned a night of Cocktails and good food and being up on holiday we didn’t really want to have a bad experience which we worried was just about to hit us. The chef assured me he was prepped and ready to go and if we didn’t mind he could serve us drinks first then take our orders.
We dithered for a bit but after that first sip of the best espresso martini I have ever had hit my tongue I actually stopped and thought, something profound is happening here.
And then he served me a Toblerone cocktail which was just pure magic in my mouth…
In what seemed like 20 minutes later Serge emerged from the kitchen with arms full of 5 star jaw dropping meals.
We obviously all fell down a rabbit hole tonight into wonderland and I’m not sure if anything will ever compare again.
If you don’t go here, you’re quite positively insane.
I do hope he can get reliable staff however because this man is a Master and a talent like that is...
Read moreWe celebrated our 44th Anniversary here on 15th November. The food was exceptionally tasty, fresh and a real treat for us. The serving size was just right. We had the Salt and Pepper Calamari for entree a generous serve easily shared, and so tender, the Chicken Scallopinie was also cooked to perfection moist, tender and full of flavour. My husband had the Morton Bay Bug Provençale with fettuccine pasta that did not disappoint either, the seafood was fresh, moist and had a lot of flavour. The pasta was noticeably handmade almost melting in your mouth. I'm not usually a pasta fan but when I taste tested my husbands, I could have easily eaten a main course. We don't normally indulge in dessert however don't go past the Crepe Suzette another burst of gastronomic delight. Best of all we had 3 courses and left very satisfied and not feeling like we had over indulged. Hi praise to Serge who had cooked and served a party of 27 for a la carte lunch on his own, due to staff shortages, and was still able to provide us with a very special celebatory meal. Red Snapper- dish of the day- was excellent. However, there was a rather large piece of hard plastic in the fish. When that was brought to the chef's attention, he said it was the supplier's fault. It came from his kitchen,he cooked it. Sounds like a health and safe problem to me. The chef was rude. The cheapest item on the bill was removed. Was very disappointed. I'll not return.
