2 stars because of the beautiful views. I get that it was busy, but we waited an hour for 2 meals ( fish & chips, S & P calamari) before i went chasing them up. Appeared the order had gone missing, although I was assured it was almost ready .." just a couple more minutes". 20 min later, back I went, to be told very apologetically, that it was cooked - it was just being plated. Would be one or two minutes. After another 10 minutes, I went back to request a refund. This had now been 90 mins since we ordered, and other diners were coming and going. Our lunches appeared at that very moment. I asked the young server where the cutlery was and she said she would get some. She returned a minute later and said she had to put cutlery in the dishwasher and would bring some out soon . Seriously!!?? We began to eat with our fingers we were that hungry. And my fish was luke warm at best - almost cold. Cutlery arrived almost 5 minutes later. Just in time to eat the salad. Would prefer they had owned up to losing the order in...
Read moreShameful! I ordered dinner at 7.05pm. At 8.30, it had not arrived.... it doesn't take 90 minutes to cook a salmon.... Upon enquiring, I was advised it would be yet ANOTHER 5 minutes. 20 minutes later, exasperated, disappointed, hungry and disillusioned, I canceled my order (as my dinner companions had already finished theirs), and headed home to a late night snack of fruit and nuts. One of my dinner companions had waited over 75 minutes for her order of vegetables.... from the bain maree!!! (Note:- She went 3 times to the cashier to ask when her meal was coming). She did confide in me however, that the veges seemed a little dry and stale. So the moral of this post is that you ought to have a quick snack before you leave home to come here, and definitely bring your sense of humour..... because you're gonna need it at the Tannum Sands Surf...
Read moreWe had lunch here. I had rang the previous afternoon and left a message to book a table on the deck, but they didn't respond. There was a table available on the deck in the shade which was lucky.
I have coeliac disease and had the calamari, chips and salad. I have had the chips on a previous visit and didn't get sick so I had them again, but unfortunately did get sick - my fault entirely, since they did warn me. The chips are apparently Gf but are cooked in a shared fryer, which normally doesn't affect me.
Its a great place for a drink or a meal, with a beautiful view.
Food is quite good, with reasonably sized servings. We have previously enjoyed the veggie burger. The beef burger...
