I had quite the disappointing experience here. I was travelling through so I stopped to grab a sub/sandwich quickly. The food in the cabinets looked quite appealing at first glance and the sandwich making bar was full of nice looking ingredients. I was observing what they had for sale at my leisure when one of the staff began to hover over me. Feeling pressured by her intruding presence I hesitantly ordered a $5.50 chicken sandwich expecting it to be made at the sandwich bar with the nice ingredients they had on display. (This is something I like to observe at Subway for example). When I went to look at the food being made at the sandwich bar the same staff member rudely told me to go sit down. This snide command to tell me to sit down caught me quite off guard so I did go and sit down just to get away from her. 5 minutes later she brought out an unappealing looking sandwich made with the lowest quality bread I have ever seen, (cheapest square sliced bread in supermarket kind of thing) with chicken scantly spread between the two layers of bread with a wilted parsley leaf on top that had dirt on it(not washed from the ground, I didn't eat it). I was shocked. I would have expected that amount of money to at least afford me a bread roll or sliced bread with some substance to it and a bit of vegetable matter (a lettuce leaf? a couple of slices of tomato?) and relish (besides the super cheap margarine that was spread on the bread, not even real butter). The sandwich was as disappointing to eat as it was to look at. At this point I reflected on the menu and think maybe I ordered some sought of low tier sandwich but it was the only chicken sandwich on the menu and the only add ons were cheese and avocado for a couple of dollars each. What does one have to do to get a sandwich with some of the typical sandwich ingredients they had on display in the sandwich bar where my sandwich was made. Did the women screw me over deliberately? Did I have to ask for lettuce, tomato, etc? If so why did she so forcely ask me to sit down as she started making the sandwich. In the end it was a surprisingly unpleasant experience. I would stay away from this shop. Perhaps the problem was with the staff member...
ย ย ย Read moreVery rude service. We have visited this cafe several times, as we want to support local businesses. Sometimes the food was good, sometimes it's not. Often a bit cold by the time it gets to us. Recently upon visiting and attempting to order food specific to our dietary requirements, the main cashier spoke very rudely to us. We always ask for things politely, but it's as if she had attitude because it was inconvenient to her to have to write in notes or remove cheese, despite us having given this business several hundred dollars by now. Halfway during taking our order she walked away without saying anything, picked up her phone to send a text then threw it back down again and came back to serve us as if nothing had happened. We got our takeaway, then once we got to the river to eat it, we realised that it was completely under cooked. The dough of the pizza was literally raw. I rang the cafe and was told we would get a refund, no apology or respectful customer service. A week later, no refund and no reply to the email I was told to send requesting it. Do not recommend visiting...
ย ย ย Read moreWe came in for a coffee this morning around 8:45am. It was really busy so we were told there would be a wait for the coffees which was fine. However, about 20 mins later and after everyone else in the long queue after us had been served their coffees and left I went up to ask where our coffees were. They were sitting on the counter (in takeaway cups but we ordered for sit in). I started to say to the woman making the coffees that we had ordered them for sit in and she just cut me off, said we ordered them to take away and walked away from me while I was talking. I completely understand when people are busy but we were forgotten about and we didnโt even get an apology. She was so rude. I took the coffees and left straight away. But thank you to the younger girl who noticed we didnโt get our coffees and...
